About

Henry Jamison is an American singer-songwriter whose music has been described as thoughtful, poetic and deeply personal. Set to commence his 2023 tour, Jamison will be traveling across the continental United States. A skilled vocalist and songwriter, his lyrics often explore themes of love, loss and identity. His live performances are breathtaking, with audience members often commenting on his vocal style, which is both delicate and powerful. Jamison first came into the music scene with the release of his EP The Rains in 2016. His debut album, The Wilds, was released in 2017 and received critical acclaim for its evocative storytelling and intricate instrumentation. The album was followed by a series of tours and festival appearances, securing Jamison's reputation as one of the most hopeful young talents in indie-folk music. In 2019, Jamison released his second album Gloria Duplex which was inspired by his experiences traveling through Europe and grappling with the complexities of modern life. The album features a more expansive sound than his debut, with lush arrangements and complex production that showcased Jamison's growth as a songwriter and producer. Tracks like "Boys" and "Ether Garden" explore the intersections of masculinity, vulnerability and power. "True North" reflects on the difficulties of maintaining personal relationships in a world that often feels detached and fragmented. These heartfelt projects were later followed with the release of a short five song EP titled Tourism. Known as one of his most relatable projects to date, this EP displays some of the writer's most personal experiences. The Years (2022) is his most recent album. This album is full of depressing song lyrics that Jamison manages to deliver in a bittersweet and hopeful tone.

Born in Vermont in 1993, Jamison grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to a wide range of genres from a young age. Throughout his career, Jamison has collaborated with a diverse group of artists and musicians, including Darlingside, Joseph, and Lady Lamb. He has also been featured on NPR's "All Songs Considered" and "World Cafe," as well as in publications like Rolling Stone and Billboard. Beyond his music, Jamison is known for his activism and advocacy work. He has been a vocal supporter of environmental causes and his music often reflects his concern for the natural world. With his richly textured sound and deeply felt lyrics, Henry Jamison has established himself as one of the most enthralling voices in contemporary folk music. Known as one of the most interesting collaborators of his generation, Jamison currently has more than 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
