An Emmy Award-winning TV writer, Dan Harmon is most famous for creating cult comedy shows Community and Rick and Morty. After getting fired from his own show, Community, in its third season (he was brought back for its celebrated fifth), he turned his attention to his live comedy show and podcast, Harmontown. The weekly show – co-hosted in LA by Jeff B Davis and featuring a stable of hilarious, sometimes eccentric regular guests – has earned a devoted international fan-base, and is the subject of the celebrated Harmontown documentary.
Unscripted, unpredictable and sometimes unhinged, it’s a show where stand-up meets self-help and star cameos are squeezed in between live Dungeons & Dragons sessions. At the centre of the show is Harmon himself: a man with a rare genius for storytelling and a sense of humour that teeters at the edge of self-immolation.
At the Comedy Theatre in December, Harmon will be joined by Davis as well as much-loved series regular Spencer Crittenden. Join us for a night of fast, loose and unruly comedy with the Harmontown crew.
Apart from the degree to which we were packed in (in the floor area, the seats were very close together), the venue is great for this type of show. One fewer seats per row would make the experience a lot more pleasant. The venue is great, though, my comment is only a minor one.
I've been listening to this podcast for a while now. I have to say it was awesome to see these guys live for the first time. It certainly will not be the last time if they ever decide to come to town again I will be first in line to purchase tickets. The venue was awesome as well.
The Wilbur is a great little place, and the whole crew of Harmontown was incredible for this show in Boston!
This was our second show at the Wilbur and it did not disappoint! We got floor seats compared to the mezz seats we sat in last time and it was awesome. You're not smushed and they even had one of their guests come through the audience which was hilarious. This was kind of a random show, but Dan and his crew did what they do best, crack up. It was hilarious, heart warming and cackle inducing. It'd definitely go again and we will be back to the Wilbur!
