About

GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT:

Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"From the opener to the encore, the entire experience was unforgettable. Grouplove puts on a great show. Very high-energy, and really engaged with the crowd. They know how to rock!"

"Grouplove played an amazing show. They had a great setlist and looked like they had so much fun doing it. Played a great encore with an unplugged version of "Cruel and Beautiful World..."

"They were amazing and energetic and crazy... it was completely contagious and you couldn't keep from bopping around with them! I had ears that they were just as awesome live as their CDs, and that is completely right."

    One of my absolute favorites

    by M. B. on 10/13/23

I went to my first Grouplove concert when they were doing the spreading rumors tour. This was one of my absolute favorite concerts. They are always so full of energy while they preform. Hands down my favorite band to see in concert. Going to see them again for their I want it all right now tour! I got all access passes and I am beyond excited to not only watch them preform but meet them in person!

    Sounded great

    by rograbt on 10/3/23

Got to see them for the first time opening for P!nk. Obviously, a short set with being the opening act, but they were able to get in a few of their hits & some of their new songs. Sounded great and hoping they are back in Michigan soon, so we can hopefully see a full set.

Grouplove at Stubbs in Austin Tx

by Julie on 10/1/23Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater - Austin

The concert was great. Everything was setup nicely. What could have gone better is Stubbs communicating that women's purses needed to be clear bag purses or small purses. I had to get out of line and figure out what to do. I bought a small purse and went back to the show, which was a blast.

    Grouplove is MUST SEE

by Cwolfe on 10/1/23Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater - Austin

I'm so glad I got to see Grouplove play a full show at Stubbs rather than to open for Pink. The show was absolutely AMAZING all around! No matter the tour they are on, if they visit your city or around you, you must watch them perform.

Band was great but venue was horrible

    by A. M. on 7/13/23

Love grouplove but the venue was horrendous. The sound was loud but you couldn’t make out what they were saying half the time. Thank for for earbuds. There was no A/C and it was beyond hot. You know it’s bad when ushers were handing out water bottles for free. I will never go to the tabernacle again after being in that hot mess. If I knew the conditions would be like that I wouldn’t have went regardless of how much I’m a fan of the band.

    Great show; venue needs upgrades

    by Johnny P on 7/10/23

Grouplove did a great job and put on a fantastic show. I was super impressed with their live performance and would recommend anyone to attend one of their live shows whether or not you think you really love their music. I think their music is good, but the live show is much better. I think the tabernacle has a lot of charm, but seriously needs to upgrade the amenities. You can’t have concerts in the summer without central air. It was brutally hot in there and there’s no reason you should be subjecting people to that. Not surprising that they are losing a lot of shows to other more updated venues most notably the Roxy. I will not be attending another show there in the middle of the summer. Additionally, the sound was not good. The vocals were very hard to make out, and I’m not sure whether the sound person or the venue is to blame, but I think it’s the venue. Once again, everyone should get out and support Grouplove on this tour.

    Passionate performance

    by Fan on 7/10/23

This was an amazing concert. The atmosphere was great, the people in the crowd were overall very friendly and GROUPLOVE’s stage presence was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It truly felt like they were born to be on stage. The passion in their hearts and the way they lit up during their songs almost brought me to tears.

Great show, hotter then the desert

    by Hunter on 7/10/23

Grouplove and Lunar Vacation were amazing. Wouldn’t change a thing about their production. Grouplove’s vocals could’ve been more clear, but that’s on the venue, not them. The A/C being turned off, though, was torture. Please fix that Tabernacle. The artists were even commenting about it.

    Fantastic performance unbearable conditions

    by Christian on 7/10/23

Grouplove was absolutely amazing. They really embraced their new Atlanta home and the feeling was mutual. Excellent performance. 🔥The Tabernacle was a major disappointment. The AC wasn’t working and the heat was unbearable. People were fainting around me. 🔥

    pretty ok

    by lol on 7/8/23

i saw grouplove on july 7. the band was awesome, but the venue just plain sucked. it was WAY too loud. thank god I brought earplugs because otherwise I probably would have suffered some form of hearing damage. the AC was also broken and there was no fans or anything. everybody had to stand shoulder to shoulder, we were all sweaty, and it was just unpleasant. however, the songs were good (i’ve never listened to grouplove before; I was invited by a friend but they sounded amazing) and everyone there was very nice. I would recommend seeing them, just bring some earbuds and a fan just in case.

Band was great, but the venue ruined it.

by CZ on 5/7/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Loudest performance I have ever been to. Way louder than the Bon Jovi concert 2 weeks earlier. Had to leave from the pain. Probably got hearing damage. Still like group love though.

Never Trust A Happy Song Amazingness

by Eva Edith on 1/20/22Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

I've been waiting for years to see Grouplove, YEARS, but something always got in the way either I didn't make it or they didn't make it. FINALLY after 10 years I got to see them for their first and most beautiful album "Never Trust A Happy Song" tour. It was everything I wanted it to be and more, the live music was just like the album but the energy was amazing, so it's better than the album. They played the songs just like the track listings so the mood is set to high energy when the concert starts with "Itchin on a Photograph" and you can feel the joy and surprised in playing this song first. The concert started off happy and bursting with energy. The venue made it feel intimate despite COVID, and there was something about the songs transporting you into a time and place where maybe you were happier, younger, and full of dreams. LOVED IT, fully recommend to everyone.

Great Show! But TM needs to do some work...

    by R. S. on 11/22/21Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

C'mon how hard is it to clearly provide door time and show time for a show? Went to one show at the Hollywood Palladium and sat around for 45 mins waiting for the show to start thinking the time on the ticket was show time. Then for this show got there 15mins after the time on the ticket and there was a band playing already. Ticketmaster and LiveNation now own many of these venues that used to have an independent web site to get details regarding the shows. Now it is very difficult to get details, but door time / show time should always be provided... preferably on the ticket itself!

    LA Dump

by Doggylady on 11/22/21Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

First of all the band is awesome and didn’t ruin the experience at all. However the venue and the other attendees sucked The area was disgusting After making us wait two and a half hours outside and requiring vaccination to get in, we walk into a extremely stuffy and hot theater The drinks were grossly overpriced and they refused to allow us onto the floor with merely water We finally got out there and noticed everyone had drinks The taller people walked all over us It was loud and the acoustics were awful We left right after the band played 4 songs We didn’t get out moneys worth and we commuted 3.5 hours from San Diego for this We missed this band back in 2020 because of Covid Sure hope they return I give the band 10 stars I give the venue one Terrible
