About

Gloria: A Life on Tour

History. Her story. Our story.

GLORIA: A LIFE brings us a richly detailed tapestry about one of the most inspiring and remarkable women of our time. Five decades after Gloria Steinem began raising her voice for equality and championing those of others, her vision is as urgent as ever. Gloria's life's work and philosophy on the necessity of conversation as a catalyst for change offer us all a path forward in a way that only live theater can. The first act is her story; the second is our own.

    Well done

by ssncnw on 4/7/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Good writing; great acting. Recapping a life focused on social movement building to empower women across our country. Daily POTUS explains why we can never stop standing up for gender equality.

Added bonus of having Gloria in attendance. Great Q&A followed. In all,a wonderful retrospect of Gloria’s journey as well as the women’s movement! Thanks to Gloria and her friends and associates, “ We’ve come a long way, Baby”!

Loved the show & that the real Gloria Steinem showed up

by J. S. on 4/3/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Great show and Gloria Steinem was introduced at the end. She is warm and humble and was gracious to people who wished to talk with her and (in the case of my daughter) be photographed with her. Beautiful woman!

    A Must See!

by Ms L on 4/2/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Gloria, A Life is an important play. I was so fortunate to see it with my daughter-in-law. It raised her awareness of the women’s movement, and inspired us to continue to make changes, individually and collectively. A real growth experience. Everyone needs to see this play!

    A must see!

by Rose Ann on 4/1/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

This was an amazing theater experience! It touched on Ms. Steinem's life and her activism, as well as many other activists, on behalf of women and minorities of all backgrounds. With an all female cast, which portrayed men and women, as well as female ushers in pants and a male usher in a skirt, genders were turned upside down. The last twenty minutes was devoted to audience participation, welcoming them to express their thoughts and personal experiences based on issues in the play. What I was left with was an optimism and hope for the future that was the antithesis of the current divisive climate. I wish I could see it again!

I had to hold back tears, just about the entire time. What a moving, powerful reminder of history (and history repeating).

    History

by D. on 3/28/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

I went with my friend, both of us old enough to remember the fight. We laughed, we cried, we became very emotional realizing how far we've come but also realizing how far we need to go. I never knew Gloria's beginning....very educational.

This was a super great inspiring play.

by Pam on 3/27/19Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

The acting was amazing and the story was told beautifully. I knew of Gloria Steinem but not of all that she had done, the efforts that she made and the details to her amazing dedication to women's rights. I wish I saw this play earlier in my life and studied her work in college. Better late than never, I guess. Thank you for the production. I hope it goes global. And, would love to see it on Broadway. It could have a very long run, for sure.
