FRENSHIP Tickets

When you fall in love with a band on Spotify it’s always a risk to see them perform live. Sometimes you win (Stars, Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stevens), sometimes you lose (Alt J, MGMT, Arcade Fire). Unfortunately, for Frenship, it was a loss. From the moment the opening act lost her voice on the first note, things quickly went downhill. Lack of organization, preparation and sheer musical talent was apparent. Frenship have the songs - the catchy hooks, the vibey jams - but they struggled to capture even an ounce of the magic I expected. If they were going for a stripped down, acoustic show, then market the show like that. But for god’s sake hire a tour manager, a drummer, an LD, have a setlist and rehearse before the show!

Opening act was ok…. 1st there in line Went up to selling booth and girl said she wasn’t ready to start selling… When she saw people wanted to buy stuff she said” ok, I guess I can start…” She said she only had S/M/L in the 3 shirt…. That was all…. A bit disappointed… The band came on near 9pm… they couldn’t recall the lyrics to 2 of their songs and kept saying how they were not “ all on the same page” I get it was cheap tix and I get it was a small venue, but you have 250 people out on a Monday night, at least give us something good…

I travelled from Las Vegas to San Diego to see Frenship and Katethedreamer for the first time. The show was beyond great! Their music is all about life’s experiences, their name meaning we can all be friends… I met people who traveled from states as far as Colorado to see them. The crowd knew all the words and sang along to every song, showing me what a following they have, and I see why. Kate opened the show with 7 of her own hits, Lovely being my favorite. She has such talent and stage presence, you could feel every emotion. The best was when she joined Frenship for one song , and the three of them together made everyone in the room dance, sing, and smile. Truly the best . I highly recommend you see thus show. It was fabulous.

I’ve been a big Frenship fan for years but this was the first time I’ve seen them live and wow... they put on an incredible show! So fun and entertaining. Great crowd, great venue, great music.

Frenship do a great show: this one is much, much better than the previous tour. Played most of Vacation plus a few of the hits. James and Bret were very engaging and clearly connected with the audience. Shoutout to Celeste, too. Lights and sound—all were connected. The band put a lot of work into this and it showed.
