About

Over the course of his more than 50-year career, guitar legend Eric Clapton has covered an immense amount of ground. Along with dozens of album releases and concerts worldwide, he’s received three Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions — one for his solo career and two more as a member of both Cream and the Yardbirds. He’s also earned an unofficial spot high on the list of best rock guitarists of all time.

Though his eponymous solo debut surfaced in 1970, Clapton’s solo career took off in the mid-‘70s with “461 Ocean Boulevard” and its now-ubiquitous single, “I Shot the Sheriff.” The English performer has since released 19 more solo sets, most recently “Old Sock.” That 13-track collection features mostly covers, as well as guest appearances by several established musicians, including J.J. Cale, Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan and Steve Winwood.

Clapton’s numerous tours - both alone and with his many projects — have canvased the globe, with tickets selling out regularly at iconic venues like London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

    Above and Beyond

by gffj on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

The Crossroads Festival is the best music weekend you will ever see. LA and Dallas were both off the Charts to me. This was maybe better than Dallas but Dallas still has special moments in my heart watchihng Peter and Eric playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps together was so special to me. This show, watching the greatest guitar players in the world doing outstanding indivudual performaces but also teaming up together often was mind boggling. Joe and John's tribute to Jeff Beck was in itself a speacia momnet. Overall, probabaly best concert I was ever at, and probably ever will be unless Eric does it again!

    Great music, venue was underwhelming

by Phil on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

Arrived Sunday at 4 pm and they were sold out of 2x T-shirts. Upper level had few concessions. There was not enough seating to sit and eat. Upper level stairs were steep and arduous for an old guy.

    Great value and good experience

by Gentleman Jim on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

Crossroads 2023 was a real blast. A great selection of bands and huge variety. Really fast changes between the artists. Sound system was really good too, so everything was really well mixed. Eric was on good form again and really showed his class. I wish it would have started earlier so it didn’t run on to 1am. The venue was a bit lacking in food options, which are essential for a 8 hour concert. Otherwise everything was really enjoyable.

    Crossroads Festival 2023

by El Kabong on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

I attended both days of the 2023 Crossroads Guitar Festival. I've seen all of the Crossroads Festivals on DVD but this was my first one in person and I flew across the country to attend. Surprisingly, it was not sold out, as Ticketmaster must have held some "Platinum Seats"back since there were still tickets to be had the day of the festival as cheap as $55. I don't understand why they didn't sell a 2-day pass. Bill Murray returned as emcee and kept everyone chuckling in between sets. While there were some great performances and collaborations, I don't feel like this year lived up to some of the past highlights. Some of the artists (War on Drugs, Wallflowers, Gustavo Santaolalla) seemed out of place while Crossroads alumni like Tedeschi Trucks Band, Warren Haynes, Eric Johnson, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh and Robert Cray were sorely missed, Buddy Guy, Vince Gill and Doyle Bramhall who were slated to perform but dropped out and Jeff Beck and Robbie Robertson sadly passed this year but did have tributes dedicated to them. There was obviously lots of great guitar playing but the highlight of the weekend for me was Marcus King, who is easily the most electric and inspiring guitarist to come along in the last decade. Clapton's band and set were just so-so for me compared to the high bar of the past performances I've witnessed from him. He didn't seem particularly engaged or inspired and the unplugged duo of Layla and Tears in Heaven would have been much better early in the day, instead of at the end of the night when everyone is tired and ready to go home. The schedule is pretty grueling to try and see all of the performances since they run from 9am to after midnight both days, but I managed to fit in about 12 hours each day and was absolutely worn out by the end. The pacing of the artists seemed pretty random and was not good overall. The Wallflowers and Los Lobos are better suited to mid-day slots instead of prime-time when you need the high energy acts to keep people engaged. I would have liked to see longer sets by Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer who only did about 30 minutes each. Santana and ZZ Top were good as headliners but after 11 hours, it was hard to focus. Caffeine might have helped but they were charging $8 for a 20oz soda. There was no big jam at the end either. Overall, I'm glad I went but I wouldn't do it again.

A great concert in an average venue

by Andrew on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

The concert itself was very good. However, the venue leaves a lot to be desired. Food and drink options are horrible, and horribly over priced. If they had decent options at a reasonable price we would have eaten there. But we went elsewhere for refreshments. As a result we missed some of the event, which was disappointing. Seating is cramped and uncomfortable, especially for people more than 6ft tall. I would be super keen to go to another Crossroads concert (if there ever is another) but I would never go to another event at this dump of a venue.

Best Birthday Celebration ever! 62 Rocks!

by Sheri baby 61 on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

How do you explain the best rock & roll show?? It was my birthday on Sunday the 24th. I have been on a mission to see Eric Clapton for a while, (bucket list for me) so I could not believe that this was happening on my Birthday! So I got tickets a few days before the show and my best friend since high school and I showed up! I can not explain what a top notch event this was. All that talent, young and old and everything in between. Best Birthday, best event, best talent! I am in Awe of everyone we Saw! Thank you everyone who put this on, and to all the performers you gave me the best gift on my 62nd lap around the sun! I will mot forget the 9 hours of straight music! My life is complete! The youngers were great, the seniors we pure magic! Long live Rock N Roll!!! 🎸🎤🎶💖🥳🎂❤️🎼

So much more than a concert

by ghog on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

We could only attend day 2, but starting with the outside stage, I already had a feeling it was going to be a special day. After 9 hours of music, all I could say is that I don’t think it could have possibly been better curated, better choreographed or better performed. I will never forget my Crossroads Festival experience. Thank you Eric Clapton and your incredible team!

    Absolutely Phenomenal!

by JC on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

My first Crossroads Guitar Festival and it was amazing! Just to be there was a dream come true for me. The performers were incredible and they put out their very best. Having other performers join them on stage just added so much to the quality and depth of the music. Having watched all the previous Crossroads DVDs it was really great to see the performers in person. And then, as always, there was plenty of exciting new talent to watch and listen to. There were so many great performances that I really can't single out one as my favorite. I have to say though that I found Eric Clapton's tribute to Robbie Robertson particularly moving along with Joe Bonamassa and John McLaughlin's nod to Jeff Beck. If I had to do it again I would have stretched my budget to get a seat closer to the stage. I only have two complaints: 1) I wouldn't hire the audio crew again; not having the mikes turned on when H.E.R. started her set and when Eric stepped up to sing is inexcusable and 2) the kiosks in the concession stands were awful and caused needless long lines. I hope that the younger musicians will carry on this tradition long after all of us "old"people are gone!

    Extremely disappointing

by DG on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

The acoustics and vocals were about the worst I've heard in any concert venue. There were 4 of us attending, sat in two different sections and 2 of the 4 are musicians. We were all really looking forward to an incredible show and were hugely disappointed. Went on Sunday, sat in the 3rd tier and you couldn't understand or clearly hear any of the vocals. By the 4th band we decided to leave. Had some conversations with other people in the arena who had the same opinions. Spoke with some who were seated on the first level and they said the sound was ok. None of us will attend a concert again at the Crypto (Staples) arena. Got the impression noone had done soundchecks in advance. Really disappointed to not see Eric Clapton and others.

    A fantastic music extravaganza!

by Natalie on 9/28/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

It was a music extravaganza of my dreams. So many artists (besides Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, and Santana), I knew, and many I did not know. All of them were fantastic. I enjoyed every second of this festival. I would have liked Eric Clapton’s session to be longer and that Stevie Wonder had sung a song or two. Highly recommend the festival.

    Disapointed

by Edlo on 9/27/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

My wife & I were very disappointed with the show on Saturday. Without knowing the lineup for each night in advance I purchased very expensive tickets to the Saturday concert. Although we enjoyed the acts we did see on Saturday we completely missed the bigger acts that played on Sunday. I thought we would see sets from everyone. Most of all we missed a full set from Eric, Santana, Gary Clark Jr. and many others. What we got was the warm up and we missed out on the main event.

    Room for improvement

by Psychobabble on 9/27/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

We were extremely disappointed in the lineup between the two nights. We can only afford to go to one night so we went to opening night. Had they listed the lineup for both nights we’d have been able to select the lineup that best suited our tastes which would have been Sunday - we went Saturday. On Saturday there were lots of sound issues (mikes not working, very loud at times), and the performances were inconsistent - some great, some not. We were lucky that the entire festival was televised PPV and we paid an additional $50 to see both days. No comparison between Saturday's and Sunday’s performances and lineup. To be fair, a lineup should be offered in advance of ticket sales. Nevertheless, we support Eric and the Crossroads treatment center and we’re grateful we could support the festival.

    Venue sucks. Sound mediocre

by snod on 9/26/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

The performers were amazing . Too bad the sound was muddy or non-existant. (took them a whole song to realize SHE mic not on.) The workers at the gate sucked and had terrible attitudes. I was hassled a couple times inside the venue by employees. When I asked for help finding my seat we walked over and I pointed out someone was in my seat and instead of correcting the situation the employee told me to sit in another row! THE venue also does NOT accept cash so that means I sneak ALL my drinks inside.and dont purchase their over priced merch. CANT RECOMmEND THE VENUE!

    Incredible live music experience

by Bob on 9/26/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

There is nothing like seeing Eric Clapton live. The production is stripped down and it's just about great musicians playing great music. I saw him at the Crossroads Guitar Festival where joined many amazing acts for some collaborations you can only see live. Highly recomended.

    Memorable

by RideOn on 9/26/23Crypto.com Arena - Los Angeles

Crossroads is in a league by itself! While you may not get as much Eric Clapton as you want, you get an amazing line-up that transcends genres. I like the generational span also: from the nervous new talent coming up, to a few of the legends whose time is up, there’s so much to appreciate at a Crossroads Festival. And what a treat to have the goofy, charming Bill Murray as host!
