Dave Alvin Tickets

Dave Alvin is a folk singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer from Downey, California. A founding member of The Blasters, he was the roots band’s lead guitarist and chief songwriter from 1979 until his exit in 1986. In the mid-to-late 1980s, Alvin also contributed brief stints as a member of alternative rock band X (recording 1987’s See How We Are) and its rockabilly offshoot The Knitters. Alvin properly launched his solo career, however, in 1987 with the release of his debut studio set Romeo’s Escape. The LP made an impact on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums chart, and since then Alvin has released 18 more albums — including collaborative projects with his brother, Phil Alvin, and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. His most recent compilation, From an Old Guitar: Rare and Unreleased Tracks, came out in 2020.
