Chicago Bears History

As one of the founding franchises of the National Football League, the Chicago Bears were established in 1920 as the Decatur Staleys by legendary player, coach and owner George S. Halas. The team moved to Chicago in 1921 and has gone on to win nine championships, including Super Bowl XX in 1986.

The Bears have 35 players in the Hall of Fame, the most of any NFL team. In the community, the Bears strive to be leaders throughout Chicago and its suburbs by supporting initiatives focused on social justice, youth football, health and fitness, volunteerism and civic involvement, and education. Bears players participate in community outreach events throughout the season. Bears Care, the team's charitable arm, has issued grants totaling nearly $27 million to 100-plus qualifying agencies.

by Hammer down on 11/12/23Soldier Field - Chicago

This was my first game in a number of years. This was my first game at night ever we had great seats in the 300 section sitting right on the 50 yard line.My beautiful friend and I just sat there, soaking it all in we were all given rally towels when we entered the arena And we wave them wildly cheering for our home team the Chicago Bears they finished off the night with the win and that made it all worthwhile. Great fun I enjoyed it we enjoyed it.

    Great game & venue

by Don J on 10/25/23Soldier Field - Chicago

We took our son to the Bears vs Raiders for his birthday as he is a longtime Bears fan. We were able to secure tickets in the United club level. The club level was very nice compared to others I have been to. This venue is clean, easy to access, and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The Bears won that day which made it just that much better. I hear they’re gonna tear down soldier Field in the future. I hope not. It’s really a great venue and a great location.

    Bears vs Packers, 2023

    by RAP57 on 9/13/23Soldier Field - Chicago

I took my daughter to the Bear-Packer game at Soldier Field on 9/10/23. We had good parking at the Chicago Hilton, approximately 1 mile from the stadium. We had great seats, midfield, and with access to the United Club, including the pregame buffet. The game day, big stadium, big rivalry atmosphere was super. The Bears unfortunately underperformed in all aspects of the game, losing badly. Bottom line, we enjoyed Soldier Field, the game day atmosphere, the United Club hospitality, with great seats, but like many in the stadium, really felt awful that the Bears underperformed so miserably!

    Fun atmosphere

by Vegitoboi on 9/13/23Soldier Field - Chicago

This was my first ever Bears game. The atmosphere itself was great. The only complaint is that some concession stands ran out or didn’t sell “souvenir cup” drinks. I wanted one of those pint glasses of beer to take home. I j ust wish that the Bearswould’ve won.

it was a game we lost

by bigDen on 12/30/22Soldier Field - Chicago

Went to the Bears-Philly game with a Marine Corp. vet from my unit who lives in the Philadelphia area. We were reunited by another member of our unit after 40years, decided to meet up in Atlantic City with our women, and while there decided on meeting up in Chicago and choose the games as we are both fans of our home teams. The game was a good one the weather was Bears, we enjoyed ourselves and have decided to do again whenever possible, Chicago-Philidelphia games either city.

    Bills own Soldier Field

by CS on 12/30/22Soldier Field - Chicago

I visited this hallowed ground for the first time as my Bills tamed the Bears. You have a quaint, attractive arena and I hope you do not end up at a suburban dog track. You have wonderful access for your communities!

    Worst venue in professional sports

    by Chijb55 on 12/27/22Soldier Field - Chicago

Soldier Field has never been a great venue. But it is so much worse now. Unused equippment litters the hallways. "Hot" food is served barely warm (or cold). Signage for seats is often misleading (or missing). During the frigid Bills game the reported "Heating stations" numbered TWO. Each with max capacity of around 15. The one we saw only one of the two heaters was working. Stadium staff advised going into the men's room,,which was warmer. "Because of all the pee". They were not joking. The one big video scoreboard is so far away from half the seats as to be almost worthless. You'd be better served to stay home than to ever visit Soldier Field again. Avoid it like it has The Plague.

by Ramjose on 12/9/22Soldier Field - Chicago

The experience overall at Soldier Field was Great!! Fun tailgating, meeting fellow fans was nice as well. We wished there was a better outcome of course with a Bears win, but as usual their find a way to give up & lose. Great fun regardless

    High hopes derailed

by Odi on 11/16/22Soldier Field - Chicago

Going to the game early with my son to tailgate was exciting. Chatting with people and participating in tailgate games was an experience for my son. Was a beautiful day, sun was out and no wind. As we start grilling we sat down and watch the sun rise, it was a picture perfect day. That gave me the high hopes of a BEARS WIN. I could feel it inside of me. I just knew with a bears win it would have made it a PERFECT day. We start walking to the stadium and we get in quickly with no long line. Which was amazing. When the game started the bears were playing very good. The score was bears 24 lions 10. I look up and its the 4th quarter. I said to myself we got this. Then the wheels came apart. The bears started playing like always,,giving up first downs on 3rd and 2. On third downs with 5 yards or less for a first down why do the bears defense give them so much leeway.? You stick to them like glue. You dont give them 10 yards of distance. If i could see it why cant the offense coordinator see it from the skybox? I mean come on. Its plain as day. You have that much of a gap on third downs they will always get a first down. Its like the football league already knows that with the bears you are almost 99% guaranteed that you will get a first down if your 3rd and 4th or less!!! So as the lions came back to make it Bears 30 Lions 24 with 7 minutes to go i knew it was over. So i headed towards the exit to beat the rush. When we get to the parking lot lions scored another touchdown to make it Lions 31 Bears 30. So as expected the bears lost a good game. They gave up. It happens EVERY TIME. I'm so disgusted and i say to myself IM DONE, time to look for another team. But no matter how disgusted and upset i am I'm still a bears fan. I hope my loyalty doesn't come back to bite me. So on the ride home I'm explaining to my son what a good 3 quarters the bears played. I told him hopefully next year the bears get a better offense to give Fields more time to throw the ball and not have him running all the time and risk injury. Well enough of my thoughts. We shall see next year what changes if any will be made.

    Bears United Club

by Mj on 11/16/22Soldier Field - Chicago

It was our first Bears game! We purchased United Club Tickets even though we weren’t sure what to expect. They were absolutely worth it! Our seats were fantastic. The service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly and helpful even though a couple of us were cheering for the other team. I highly recommend United Club seating!!!
