Carolina Panthers Team History

The Carolina Panthers became the 29th National Football League franchise on October 26, 1993. They played their inaugural season in 1995, finishing 7-9 and setting an all-time best opening season record for an NFL expansion team. They also beat the San Francisco 49ers in their inaugural season, becoming the first expansion team to defeat a reigning Super Bowl champion in their first year of play.

Since their start, the Panthers have won six division titles, including three consecutive NFC South division titles from 2013-15 under coach Ron Rivera. The Panthers have made it to the playoffs eight times, winning two NFC Championships and appearing in the Super Bowl twice. Under coach Rivera, they made four playoff appearances in a five-year span from 2013–2017, tying Green Bay and Seattle for the most NFC playoff appearances during that time. In that five-year span, the Panthers recorded 51 wins, the most in any five-year period in franchise history, and tied for fifth-most in the NFL.

Their first Super Bowl appearance was in 2004 for Super Bowl XXXVIII, then Super Bowl 50 in 2016, following what was the Panthers’ most dominant season to date, going 15-1 with quarterback and MVP Cam Newton.

Great seeing the players but very crowded

    by sgolfpro on 8/12/23

It was great seeing the players but was very crowded. thank goodness I got there earlier but hardly got to see the Jets as they were on the other field warming up. I think there were too many tickets sold. (or given away). Parking was far away for me and I got lost finding my car. Left early as it was very hot on the hillside. I got some good photos so it was worth it for me.

    #1 best experience

    by Blessed on 8/8/23

My son is a starting football player. He is short at 9 years old and this really helped boost his confidence. He really enjoyed it.

    Okay

    by CSiri on 8/7/23

First time attending - wasn't sure what to expect. It was a smooth arrival for parking and finding a spot. It was a training camp viewing so not much on the entertainment side obviously (no complaints there) but towards the end for kids to go and get autographs, the section for that was small and the adults crowded all around where the kids where. Poor kids were shoving and crying bc of how aggressive some other kids were being. Other than that not much out there for food or drinks. Overall a good time.

    Nothing but a glorified practice

    by FanFest on 8/6/23

Absolutely nothing interesting especially for kids. Nothing but a glorified practice with music and the occasional boring player interview. Concessions was a mess with long lines. By the time you were able to get your food the entire event was over.

Fireworks are the best I've seen.

    by Tuchi on 8/5/23

Awesome experience, just wish there would be an opportunity for fans to meet some of the players.

    A Grand Panthers Event

    by SCMcP on 8/5/23

The whole Fan Fest idea is a great one. From ticket pricing to the whole laser light production, at the end, it was a fantastic family, fun-filled treat for everyone. The atmosphere was electric! The wristbands being an actual part of the light show was simply the best!!

    Very disappointing

    by Steven on 8/5/23

My daughter wanted to see the top cats and we never saw them perform because they did it early. And they never came back out. Event was incredibly boring. Show was too short

    Great except for one thing...

    by Ashley L. on 8/5/23

The event went off without a hitch, we all had a great time! The only thing I would change is to directly hand the light-up bracelets to every individual that checks in a ticket when first entering the stadium, that way each person could have one & not be greedy by taking others. There were families arriving to seats earlier than others & letting their kids take all the bracelets so others didn't have any to partake in the light show afterwards. I thought that was pretty rude of them. The bracelets that were left on the arm rests had already fallen off & were under folks chairs. I made sure everyone on our row checked under their seats to get theirs that had fallen.

    It was still fun

    by Brit on 8/5/23

It was great it did rain at the end. Also I feel they could have just let everyone sit in lower sections, a lot of empty seats

    Into the future

    by Wally on 8/5/23

First, I believe this year was the best firework show ever for fan fest. Unfortunately, I keep hoping for the laser show to improve, and I one day see a drone show. I like how they are used for filming. Mobile kiosks ordering was new and a little testy, but I am improvement. I would like to see more drink stations in the 100 level, and more restaurant style food on the 500 level. I think there should be more available area to get signatures pre practice from the old timers. Maybe do a VIP autograph add on package for attendees to get player’s autographs either before or after the game. Maybe giveaways signed jerseys for lucky guests. I have million ideas, but I do believe Mr Tepper and team are moving us in the right direction.

    Lackluster

    by CLTfan on 8/5/23

As someone who has been going to the Fanfest for many years now, this one missed a lot of the excitement that they normally have. I didn’t feel like any of the players interacted with the crowd nor was there anyone really interacting with the crowd. There was a few times that people came and threw t-shirts out but it was always to the same section. The fireworks were really great, but that was about it.

    Panther Strong

    by Panther family on 8/5/23

I enjoyed Panthers fan fest. I'm so glad they went back to the old way. Last year was not family oriented. Winning or losing my family are Partners fans!
