    Andrea Marovici at Tilles

by Anonymous on 4/14/15Tilles Center - Hillwood Recital Hall - Brookville

It was awful, she cannot sing , the reading of poetry made no sense -I am a Gershwin lover and her choice of songs was terrible we walked out after 1/2 hr

    A disappointing evening!!!

by curlycue on 5/13/13Tilles Center - Hillwood Recital Hall - Greenvale

I was looking forward to taking my mother out for quality cabaret and was embarrassed and disappointed instead. I had heard of Ms. Marcovicci and although I never heard her sing her reputation was worth the gamble. Although I respect her acting chops and her ability to put a show together, her voice was awful...really not listenable. I felt as if she didn't respect singing as a craft and completely let her voice go. In the end, I felt ripped off and taken advantage of. Tony Bennett has 20 years on her and sounds a thousand times better. If she doesn't "have it" anymore than she needs to hang it up!!'

    Andrea-Jeff---amazing!!!

by HannahBF on 6/14/11Town Hall - New York

What a force of musical inspiration! I loved the combination of both performers in sharing the genius of Mr. Cole Porter. What I heard was such a labor of love with a high caliber of talent and understanding of the timeless value of classic music. There was a great appreciation of the whole audience for the event. It was a beautiful evening, and I am glad I was there.

He was a delight to hear and enjoy. Andrea though has lost most of her vocal capacity and has an annoying stage presence.

    Astonishing at 60!

by longfellow on 7/12/09Town Hall - New York

Andrea was AMAZING -- as charming and full-voiced as ever, and her Mother nearly stole the show. ALL of her fabulous songwriter guests were wonderful too. An evening that brough rousing ovations -- standing and otherwise -- from all who attended.

    Andrea Marcovicci was forgettable

by prunella on 7/12/09Town Hall - New York

The evening was titled Andrea Marcovicci Birthday Celebration. The first part of the program was quite good. Her voice is wonderful and the selection of songs acceptable. Right before the intermission she introduced her 90 year old mother and had her come out and sing. Her mother's voice was OK but we understood Andrea wanting to celebrate the evening with her Mom. After intermission, the program went totally downhill and made us furious. Andrea introduced several of her friends who had composed music for her through the years. Not only was the music uninspired but she had THEM SING. We did not buy the tickets to this event to be entertained by her friends. (we were not entertained). Plus her mother came out and sang two more songs. Enough nostalgia. All and all we felt that she abused us and had false advertising for the event. We have been to several of her concerts and always enjoyed her enormously. After this eveining, we will never go see her again.

    Andrea's Birthday at Town Hall

by SMFH on 7/11/09Town Hall - New York

As alwa ys, she -- and her mother! -- sing beautifully and put on a great cabaret, with much classier chitchat than most.

Andrea and her mom were outstanding!

by Bigsparky on 7/11/09Town Hall - New York

This was truly one of the best concerts that I have attended in some time. Andrea provided a very nice and varied program with the assistance of her talented song writers and musicians. Her comedic comments were a pleasant surprise and only made the evening more enjoyable. One of the highlights of the evening was the appearance of her mom, Helen Stuart. She just came out and sang--and wonderful too!. At Helen's age, she definitely has not lost one degree of her talented voice. If Andrea continues to exhibit her terrific talent, based on the quality of her mom's longevity of entertainment, Andrea will have many, many years of good voice and quality music.
