Alice in Chains rocked Spokane.
Well worth the trip to Spokane. Alice in Chains kicked ass pure and simple. I am a lifelong fan. The crowd was really into the show from start to finish. I really like singer Robert Duvall. Some tall shoes to fill with Layne Staley. The boys rocked all the classics from start to finish. A good mixture of old and new AIC. Sounded great in The Podium. The crowd was killer. Even had a pit going. We had a great time. Long live Alice in Chains.

tickets
Had a good time only thing is I wish Ticketmaster gave us the option for ticket stubs to get in the mail. Saw Jerry Cantrell at the knitting factory earlier this year and paid extra just so I could have the stub printed so I can put it in some kinda scrapbook. Seems like only certain shows give you that option tho. So five stars for AIC but one for Ticketmaster lol

Alice, Unchain My Heart
Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno
I bought the ticket, but the show was on a Sunday and I had to work on Monday…and the friends I was going with had to bail. So many reasons not to go..but I rationalized that because I spent the money on a tix, I should get it together and GO! And I did just that! My tix was GA and I ended up on the front row center. I made some new friends who flew in from Wisconsin to attend the show! And how lucky was I that this show was in my home town!? So grateful! Jerry Cantrell even handed me a guitar pic at the end of the show!! The singer was awesome, the show did not disappoint! I’m so glad I went! Don’t miss seeing this band of you have a chance! They played ALL of their great songs! There was a problem with the credit card machine in the merch line, but they eventually got it fixed so I could get my t-shirt. The GSR is a great venue with free parking. The staff is friendly and it’s always easy to get a drink with several bars throughout the venue.

Alice in Chains close up!
Idaho Central Arena - Boise
I have seen Alice in Chains three times now, going back to 1993. They always put on a great show. This time in was about 10 feet or less from them so it was awesome! The only negative is that they always have the sub-woofer up high, which is odd considering they are not a rap group. The problem with that is, if you wear foam ear plugs like I do, you can't hear anything but what sounds like over driven/distorted bass guitar. Basically, I have "seen"the band three times now but I have never really "heard"them. I would definitely still see them again.

Leaving the parking lot
Idaho Central Arena - Boise
Everything was great except getting out of the parking lot. It took way too long and we weren't able to turn and go to the freeway. We had to go out the back roads.

Bucket List Concert
Idaho Central Arena - Boise
I have been wanting to see Alice In Chains for years. I don't normally go to venues that are mostly seats but I did for this one. It was still damn good. You could feel the guitars in your seats. Just wish Jerry was a little livelier.

Great band and would see them over and over......but not at that venue ever again!
Alice in Chains in Concert
Five years after their original frontman, Layne Staley, died of a drug overdose, Alice in Chains made an unlikely return in 2007. Surviving band members Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, and Sean Kinney recruited frontman William DuVall to join the group, first for some well-received concerts, then to go on tour. Next came a new album, 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue," which got glowing reviews, entered The Billboard 200 at No. 5, and led to more shows with fast-moving tickets. In 2013, the band released their second post-Staley album, this time reaching No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The only AIC album to chart higher was 1995's self-titled set -- the band's last with Staley -- which reached No. 1.
Alice in Chains' dark take on rock emerged from the same late '80s Seattle scene that also spawned fellow grunge acts Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, among others. With Staley at the helm, the band recorded rock radio staples like "Rooster," "Heaven Beside You," "Got Me Wrong," and "Would?" The band has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards -- including two with DuVall on the mic -- but so far haven't won an award.
