About

AL JARDINE IN CONCERT:

Millions of rock ‘n’ roll fans are familiar with Al Jardine’s voice and guitar playing from his days with The Beach Boys, and ticket buyers who crave those sunny sounds and stunning harmonies can expect the same good vibrations at his solo shows. With a setlist including Beach Boys hits and fresh solo material, Jardine gets audience members singing along to '60s classics like “Help Me Rhonda” and “I Know There’s an Answer” as well as original tunes like “Don’t Fight the Sea” and “A California Saga” off his 2010 album A Postcard from California. Al Jardine’s love for the Golden State shines brightly, and fortunate fans get to bask in the warm vocals and feel-good vibes this Beach Boy still radiates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Though he was born in Lima, OH, Al Jardine will be forever linked to the sounds of California beach culture. He met Brian Wilson in choir class at LA's El Camino College, and after experimenting with harmonies together they decided to form a band. Wilson's brothers Carl and Dennis and his cousin Mike Love joined the group in 1961, and soon The Beach Boys were climbing the charts with hits like “California Girls”, “I Get Around”, and “Little Surfer Girl”. As the ‘60s wore on, principal songwriter Brian Wilson moved in an increasingly ambitious direction, culminating in 1966’s Pet Sounds—widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time. Even as Wilson dealt with personal struggles, The Beach Boys soldiered on as a democratic unit with increased input from Jardine and the other members. The band continued to tour throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s, scoring a No. 1 hit in 1988 with “Kokomo”, their first chart-topper in 22 years. That same year, Al and the other members of the band were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Jardine released his debut solo album A Postcard from California in 2010, featuring signature harmonies from his band members and appearances from a who’s-who of rock legends including Neil Young, David Crosby, Flea, and Steve Miller. Whether performing solo or joined by his Beach Boys compatriots, Al always delivers the sunny sound that fans around the world have fallen in love with.

    Great time!

by Richard on 12/12/22Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

It’s Beach Boys music, how could you not love it. Al Jardine does a terrific job with the set lists for these shows. When he dusted off Surfs Up I was floored. Matt Jardine, Al’s son, handled the high notes and he did a fantastic job. Al’s shows are more intimate and friendly than the others.

    A really enjoyable night out

by MaggieNYC on 3/11/22Sony Hall - New York

This was my first time at Sony Hall despite many hundreds of concerts under my belt. I've seen a Land Matt Jardine before on their own and with Brian's band but it was very nice to see Wendy and Carnie. I wish that their mics were turned up a little more. I think they need a better drummer but other than that, everybody was in top form.

    God only Knows

    by SouthernPacific4449Lives on 10/17/18The Rose - Pasadena

This is a truly Great Show/ Concert, and a Must-See Event. Beach Boy Al Jardine and his Son Matt are both fantastic. Al is a fun loving Storyteller, Singer, and Guitar Player. Matt Al's son can play anything and he has the voice of an Angel and has played with the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson for decades. Al and Matt both cover a lot of Beach Boy songs, and Al's solo work. Bring your friends, your kids, your folks, and have a lot of Fun, Fun, Fun.

    Al Jardine exceeded my expectations!

by IGlow on 10/15/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa Clarita

Al Jardine has a wonderful stage presence & he made us feel like we were in his living room. It was so much FUN on Friday night that I bought a ticket to see him again Sunday. He did a couple of different songs & he seemed even more relaxed on Sunday. As a Beach Boy Al was my first concert ever. I'm thankful the years have been good to Al. If you get a chance to see him, don't pass it up because you'll really be missing out❣️

    Beach Boy hit

by BigZero68 on 6/18/18The Cave - Big Bear Lake

The intimate venue, stories, and timeless music were all equally splendid. The food at this venue is very good with a reasonable price tag. I'd recommend going if someone you want to see is there. The opportunity for this type of venue is difficult to find.

    Macanally was fantastic

by mmp15317 on 6/19/14Resorts Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Mac was fantastic - excellent musician and very personable, interesting stories. Al Jardine's band was basically a bad Beach Boys tribute band.

    Enjoyable!

by Mahiman on 6/11/14Resorts Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Mac Mcanally (Jimmy Buffet's right hand man) was enjoyable as he told stories and did a handful of songs. Al Jardine played with his two sons and 4 members of the Beach Boys backup band of the 70's and 80's (most notable Billy Hinche, Ed Carter, and Bobby Figeruoa). The sound was good. Matt Jardine did several of the songs, though, since he carrys the Brian Wilson falsetto. Al Jardine went with a lot of the mainstream Beach Boy songs instead of using some of his own like California Saga, Cotton Fields, California Dreamin, and Postcard from California. The venue was more like a lounge and VERY SMOKE FILLED from the casino.

    Mac McAnally was incredible!!

by Joanien on 6/10/14Resorts Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Saw Mac McAnally and Al Jardine in A.C. This weekend. That's the way I thought the billing should have read. Mac was incredible , as always. His songs are funny, touching and nostalgic. His intros to the songs are always witty and self deprecating. His talent is boundless. He definitely deserves all the songwriter of the year awards that he has garnered, but he is also an awesomely talented musician. Al Jardine and his band were also entertaining, playing all the classic Beach Boy songs with some new arrangements. The reason four four stars was that there was not enough Mac time, otherwise great show.
