Compared to previous multiple concerts, this was definitely the worst.
Parking and food vendors were on point. Easy access to gain entry to the parking area, and LOTS of food varieties available. The burger was excellent and well above the quality I would expect at a music festival venue (great job!!!). Pricing for alcohol was a little high - a $32 cocktail (including tip) is excessive in my opinion, but it is what it is. The music line up was phenomenal. Seeing Taylor Dayne and Deborah Cox was wonderful. I hadn't really heard much from Kristine W before (besides the Queer as Folk theme song) so that was a real treat. But the highlight of the night was definitely KYLIE! As an Aussie living in the USA, and also a lifelong Kylie fan (well, since 1988 anyway), it was OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING to see her live Stateside for the first time. We had a great view throughout the whole show, the seats were comfortable for the times we were sitting, the weather (rain) held off for the whole evening and the sound was great! The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is that I was disappointed there was no merchandise available. Kylie has a bunch of stuff available on her website and I was really hoping to have purchased some of it in person! Overall my friends and I had a fantastic night, one that we will remember for a long time! Thank you for bring Kylie (and Padam Padam) to start off our American summer!
I usually LOVE KTUphoria and have attended a number of events. This year (2023) was downright boring, the artists had no stage presence at one point the background “dancers” were just walking back and forth on the stage as if they were bored too. The DJ’s music were better than the artists. I might as well have been listening to the radio and it would have been better music. Interesting crowd. The audience was more entertaining and appeared more excited to be there than the artists in the venue.
Would be nice to have some well named artists as surprise guests
The venue was dramatic. The staff was friendly and informed. The performances were awesome. We would probably skip the VIP upgrade in the future - there were plenty of bathrooms and bars in the general access area.
Great line up, was seated in ORCHC E15,16,17,18. First, the seats were pretty good, but Kylie was the only performer that even attempted to come over to our end of the stage. There was a lighting or fan bar and other items in the way. I'm not sure if this is usual for this venue, it's been a number of years since I've been to Jones Beach. The backup dancers went from terrible to the best. Starting with Taylor Dane, a five-star performance, but her backup dancers were awful. No choreography, it looked like pulled them from behind a WaWa and asked them if they wanted to go on stage that night, then came Kristine W. Her set was pretty good, but the outfits were so distracting and that rat's nest of hair on her head was so bad, her stylist had to come out and fix it, mid-set. While the backup dancers had better choreography, this time they probably pulled them from the Shell station. Next up - Deborah Cox. The cap she was wearing was too much for this, but her hair, makeup, and voice were flawless. THAT VOICE was simply amazing. Backup dancers were better, but probably got them from a dance school and were not professional. Lastly, Kylie was FLAWLESS. Simply amazing. I was so impressed with what she did on that stage and the dancers were five-star! All in all, it was a terrific performance, but the final issue was it was too long between sets. It's not as though they had a stage/set change or anything. They could have had a five-ten minute in between instead of 20 minutes.
Highlight of the event must definitely be Kylie Minogue who came at around 10pm and killed us on stage. She is 55 and has even combated against Breast Cancer but still manage to sing and dance VERY WELL. She brought all the gays the best time of their lives and we were all living for it! The venue is beautiful but there were two incidents that affected my experience a bit: 1) The front section where I was sitting was FLOODED due to rain.... it was dirty and not safe to dance! 2) A lot of people sitting from the back were rushing to the front when Kylie performed and the staff couldn't or didn't stop them... my view was kind of blocked by guys who are 190 cm tall and dancing with their arms up + camera (you know how excited gay guys dance!) LOL. I think they should dance in their own seats and not came to the front! This is not fair to people who did pay for a higher price ticket.
We had the best time, the show was great, the singers were great and Deborah Cox knocked it out of the park!
Never again going to Ktuphoria. Not what I was expecting. I am not the only one - many empty seats.
