    Amazing night!

by salemhobbit on 9/12/16The Sinclair - Cambridge

Walter Sickert & TAOBT is a band I have wanted to see for years but it just never worked out. The show at The Sinclair made all the waiting worthwhile. The new album Come Black Magic kicks butt. I bought it after the show and I've fallen in love with it. Nothing will keep me from missing their next area performance. Before that night I knew a little about Ruby Rose Fox and was blown away by her performance. Tremendous stage presence and that voice! Incredible vocals and such a talented writer. I will be on the lookout for her next area appearance as well. Sadly I missed Mt Peru but they backed up Ruby Rose Fox and are very talented. It was the best all local band show I've been to in a long time and really hope The Sinclair does this more often.

100% local show brings out local people- shocking!

by Dalya on 9/12/16The Sinclair - Cambridge

This show was beyond amazing. Every one of the bands is phenomenal. Mt Peru started with a nice slow start, Ruby rocked it, then the Toys knocked it out of the park (per usual!) with their sounds.

Do you hear voices? You must be . . .

by DJAmbient on 11/2/12Brighton Music Hall - Boston

possessed by Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys. This ensemble is one of the coolest bands bands to see. Aside from their kick-ass music it's always a surreal visual fete as well - add in Halloween and you get the special of the night - SquidHouse of Horror. Though I love their CDs there is nothing to compare to seeing them live - not only do you get the full insanity of the experience you get to hear an excellent band of great musicians who can belt it out and really entertain. All the weirdness is not a gimmick, it's just the icing on the cake that tips things into another dimension. It's kind of like taking one part Dr. John, one part Nick Cave (a la Murder Ballads) and one part Mystic Nights of the Oingo Boingo (from Forbidden Zone era) not to mention a bit of Burlesque and mixing it all together - both shaken and stirred - it's a cocktail you'll turn into a lush over.

    Seriously unforgettable experience!

by nefariouscupcake on 2/22/12TT The Bears - Boston

I've seen this band, Walter Sickert and the army of broken toys, twice. The first time by accident, the second time because I tracked them down to TT The Bears, These guys are amazing! The energy, the music, the fun! It's like being involved in a performance, not just watching one. They have amazingly sexy dancers and performers and the guys voice is super powerful. I definitely recommend seeing these guys if you want an experience different from any regular "seeing a band" type of night!
