    Nerd heaven

by Anonymous on 7/30/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

This was the third w00tstock I'e attended and as usual it was an awesome show! The Randy Newman movie soundtrack bits by Paul & Storm were my favorite part of the show, although the "Feelin groovy" singalong that closed out the show was great too.

w00tstock 8.0 an amazing night of comedy and music

by brianj619 on 7/24/16Balboa Theatre - San Diego

We had so much fun at w00tstock this year! Adam Savage, Paul and Storm, and guests gave amazing performances! This show was the highlight of comic-con for me this year. If you've seen the show before, you know what I'm talking about. If not, do yourself a favor and get tickets next year. You'll be glad you did!

    Funniest 10min at Comic-Con.

by ElCaptainOfCali on 7/24/16Balboa Theatre - San Diego

It's just too bad the show is 4 hours long. Buckle up; you're in a night of tedious inside jokes and poor production value. As you wait for the "acts" to transition, you get the distinct feeling they literally just grabbed some people off the street and offered them stage time in exchange for beer. Podcasters, bloggers, and who-knows else will attempt to be funny, convey smugness, and wish to be relevant, and still manages to pander to the audience. When the best humor comes from the audiences' live tweets, the talent struggles to work PowerPoint on stage, and comics lead with jokes about Donald Trump's hair (I'm assuming it was that or start with a "pull my finger" gag), it's time to get some underground Wyldfire on this "Geek church" and blow it to high heaven.

    Underwhelming awkwardness

by SeeTruth on 7/24/16Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Much of it was unscripted and some of the comedy acts were painful to watch as they struggled through. Too many jokes fell flat across the crowd. I felt like there was potential but half the acts were old repeated stuff and it was apparent they didn't put much effort into producing a quality show for us but just showed up hoping they could come up with something and sometimes they didn't. Some good skits and laughs made it just barely worth attending but the recycled "that's my cover band" jokes and dumb tweets on our waiting screen ensure I'll not return. Not to mention the girl telling is to leave the theater and that we suck for not watching the lame Ghostbusters reboot. Thier act was a 1/5.

w00tstock A Night of Geeks and Music

by Jacquihotty on 11/4/10Wilbur Theatre - Boston

w00tstock was, by far, the best show I've seen this year. I wasn't sure what to expect, I am a not as "geeky" as some, but the show was great! Full of a lot of laughs and a great, big cast of people. Forgot it was Halloween and did not dress up, but I'm not sure that would have mattered much given the type of crowd that was there. Was looking forward to seeing Adam Savage from Mythbusters, but Grant Imahara had also showed up which was a treat. Listened to great music from Marian Call, and Paul and Storm. Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy presented some Mystery Science Theater films, and Marc Abrahams showed a presentation on Ig Nobel prizes. And of course it ended with everyone singing a pirate song. I'm sure I left some people out and for that i apologize, there were so many it was hard to keep up. Not to mention the show ended up being over 4 hours long!! I was such a fun time you didn't even notice. Great Night!!! Thanks for the awesome show everyone!
