About

Whether he's singing an ode to "queer tattoos," telling his potential paramour all the things he won't be doing for her (he ain't fightin' no Lion), or lamenting his new vegan lifestyle ("Tofurkey? Tof**k yourself- I want some meat"), Stephen Lynch will always consider himself "a musician trapped in the body of a comedian." His unique blend of musical based comedy has earned him fiercely loyal fans around the world who live to experience his sold-out live shows, six best-selling CDs, his RIAA-certified Gold DVD and his top-rated Comedy Central Specials.

Stephen moved to New York in 1996, with the goal of becoming a performer. While temping during the day, he wrote songs and performed at clubs and underground music venues around Manhattan at night. Stephen quickly developed a devoted fan base and caught the attention of Comedy Central, who invited him to record his 1st cable special in 2000. That special became one of their highest rated shows in the series, almost unheard of for an unknown. His 2 nd Comedy Central special debuted in January 2008, with similarly high ratings.

In 2006, Stephen Lynch stepped onto the Broadway stage for the first time in the title role of The Wedding Singer. His performance earned him nominations for some of the highest honors in American Theatre including the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, as well as the highly coveted Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical.

Stephen's albums "A Little Bit Special," "Superhero," "The Craig Machine," and "3 Balloons" have sold hundreds of thousands of copies around the world. His first DVD, "Live at the El Rey," was certified Gold by RIAA. Stephen has toured with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Lewis Black and the late Mitch Hedberg. He's also headlined his own sold out shows throughout the United States, Australia and Europe, where its been said he's "the Beyonce of Scandinavia."

When not touring the globe for ardent and enthusiastic fans, Stephen divides his time between New York and Michigan with his wife.

Great evening of music and comedy

by Joe on 6/28/22Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

Stephen played a lot of material, old and new. The banter was well-rehearsed and very funny. He engaged well with the crowd and kept things fresh and funny. If you enjoy his music, you know the type of humor you're getting and will love the show

Every time I see Stephen Lynch is a good time! He and Rod put in a memorable and hysterical performance. I've never been disappointed and can't wait for the new album and next tour!

We had a great time, and couldn't stop laughing.

by Timothy on 6/7/22The Observatory North Park - San Diego

Plenty of new material, with some classics. Venue sound was great, yet drinks of course, are way too expensive.

    Awesome show!

by Pauline on 11/22/21Sony Hall - New York

It was my 3rd or 4th time seeing him live. I didn’t expect this time around for the show to be such a blast. Besides having great seats right in the middle front, he and his “sidekick” were hilarious. Although an act, he was doing a lot of improv and spontaneous funny comments and gestures. Very organic. This show was by far the best I’ve seen from him.

    Amazing Show

by Barney on 11/22/21Sony Hall - New York

The entire experience was incredible. The show, the seating, the staff...all perfect. My only wish and I hope others see this and prepare is that it was freezing in there. Definitely was a little difficult to really enjoy everything as my teeth were chattering through most of the show. But other than that it was an incredible experience.

Hilarious, amazing songwriter, and great musician

    by M. K. on 11/22/21Sony Hall - New York

He pretty much knocked it out of the park. He started with a song I hadn't heard before, and it was just as good as all of the ones I already knew. It was really enjoyable and hilarious, and I am really happy I came to this show. I took the Amtrak from DC to New York City to catch this show, and am glad I did.

    Great Show, Lousy Venue

by BK-SA on 11/22/21Sony Hall - New York

Show was awesome. Very funny, great entertainer. This is the second time I've seen him, the last time was years ago, and the old and new songs were awesome. The venue is not great. Who puts seats in with their back to center stage? I bought the "VIP" tickets and spent 2 hours with my neck craned and sitting in the aisle. That plus the drunk loud guy next to me singing the songs and making it hard to hear (and zero reaction from the staff) also was a buzz kill.

    Not good

by Seth on 11/22/21Sony Hall - New York

I had booked these tickets for Saturday night. The date was changed to Friday night. I could not go, was unable to get a refund or credit. Very disappointed as I would have liked to see Stephen Lynch

    Lynch and Rod are hilarious

by Bad things happen on 11/21/21Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

Loved the show. They riff off each other and it’s well done. Songs are catchy and lyrics are so damn funny.

    Hilarious and amazing as usual

by Dizzle on 11/20/21The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

Stephen Lynch never disappoints, and his latest performance was no exception. As usual, he brought, depth, charisma and undeniable wit to his amazing musical talents. His interaction with his partner was hilarious, and I laughed so hard, my cheeks hurt. Lynch's catchy and perverse songs were stuck in my head for days. This is the most fun I've had at a show in a long time. Thank you, Stephen!
