    Ray Manzarek is The Man!!!

by LittleTwinStars on 4/22/13Pacific Amphitheater - Costa Mesa

I have seen Ray Manzarek and Robby Kreiger--- the last two surviving members of The Doors--- twice now. Once at a quaint and intimate dinner and show at The Grove in Anaheim... and once with my husband at The Pacific Amphitheater. We had the time of our lives there. It was such a wonderful experience. We rocked the night away together. Such an amazing night!!! We just hope that they will still be touring when we have children so we can bring them too.

    Ray and Robby in Boston

by Anonymous on 10/8/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The show exceeded expectations. They sounded great and played the hits. I forget the guy who was actually singing but he sounded great and didn't try too hard to mimic Jim. It definitely was not like watching a cheezy cover band.

Manzarek and Krieger tore the roof off the joint

by delfuego on 10/4/12The Paramount - Huntington

Robby and Ray were very good and Dave Brockdid a tremendous job bringing Jim's presence to the stage. His voice was dead on and the crowd loved it. Robby's guitar work was impressive and Ray set the mood before most every song with a brief little history on the songs and times.

    AWESOME PERFORMANCE

by DarkGKnight on 10/3/12Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The Doors are absolutely awesome. Sad to see Robby fall on stage. I hope he was ok. I love that they are adding different songs this year.

    The Fire Was Lit!

    by JClint7 on 10/2/12Birchmere - Alexandria

Ray and Robby proved they can still "break on through" the years and provide wonderful renditions of classic Doors songs. Wish they had played "Soul Kitchen," but that is a minor complaint. It was a rare chance to see some rock legends still in their prime.

The Band was loose and seemed to really enjoy the night...last night of the tour. Interacted very well with the crowd. They seemed to enjoy being there. Best concert I was ever at... I have seen these guys 4 times over the last 2 years. I wish i could by a DVD of the concert... It was that good!!! Please don't go see them so I can buy the good seats...lol

    They can still rock

by shades427 on 10/2/12Tarrytown Music Hall - Tarrytown

When I purchased the tickets for this concert I wasn't so sure how good it would be. The questions are really whether Ray and Robby can still play and how to replace Jim Morrison on vocals. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised! The original members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger are joined by vocalist Dave Brock, bassist Phil Chen and drummer Ty Dennis. Ty Dennis does a fantastic job as the anchor of the band. Remember the drummer always provides the timing! Phil Chen adds a depth that the original band may not have had on bass. The shoes of Jim Morrison are tough to fill, but Dave Brock does an excellent job. On some songs, he is spot on and on others not as much. BUT in the end ... he gets everyone into the mood, rocking and singing along. As far as Ray and Robby ... Robby can still make his guitar scream! It really doesn't sound like he has lost anything. Ray started slow on keyboards by shined in some of the songs later in the concert. They still have it ! One of the most awesome parts of this concert was the relatively small venue they played and the fact that Dave Brock invited everyone in the hall down to the stage front for a much more intimate experience. EVERYONE was dancing/swaying/rocking and singing along with Dave to all the tunes. All in all this was an excellent experience. I am only sorry that this was the last stop on the tour, otherwise I would follow them to their next venue!
