About

Tiger Army played their first show at seminal California DIY venue 924 Gilman in 1996. A trio with guitar, stand-up bass & drums led by singer, guitarist & songwriter Nick 13, the band’s sound is a unique blend of punk and Midcentury rock 'n' roll, emphasizing songwriting and melody.

Four albums were released on Hellcat/Epitaph, starting with their self-titled debut in 1999. Heavy touring continued through the end of 2008, when they wrapped the cycle for ‘Music From Regions Beyond’, produced by the legendary Jerry Finn. The album yielded the single “Forever Fades Away” and their highest visibility with favorable reviews in the ‘New York Times’ & a national TV appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, yet they’ve always been outsiders to the mainstream, authenticity never compromised.

Nick 13 switched gears to play Americana music solo, releasing & touring a self-titled album on Sugar Hill Records in 2011. Tiger Army continued in a limited capacity, still playing ‘Octoberflame’, a multi-night SoCal festival curated by 13 (which had its tenth installment in 2019 with 2 sold out shows at The Wiltern in Los Angeles) and known for the band’s different setlists each night featuring deep cuts, surprise covers & guest musicians.

The band returned to full-time status in 2015 with the recording of 'V •••–' (their fifth album), released the following spring on Lunatone/Rise & supported with extensive touring over four continents that lasted into late 2017. 2018 saw the release of the tiki/surf themed 'Dark Paradise' EP. 2019 was marked by the creation & release of 'Retrofuture', their sixth full length LP – they managed to tour in North America, Germany & the UK before the pandemic struck.

Tiger Army is known for its passionately devoted fanbase, with thousands sporting tattoos of lyrics, song titles, or the band’s signature “TigerBat” logo. Any set is a journey that takes the audience from romantic ballads like “Dark and Lonely Night” or the Rock en español “Mi Amor La Luna”, to high energy stompers like “F.T.W.”.

They celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2021, come see what’s led to the longevity for yourself at a live show when you can!

the love between band & fans is palpable

by brian on 11/1/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

this was the latest of the countless Octoberflame shows i've attended, and they just get better and better! Seeing Tiger Army perform in LA always feels like such a lovely hometown show, and the way the fans are all equally obsessed with the band just amplifies the love in the room. The setlist is wonderfully unpredictable, and yet every song is deeply familiar. The way Nick13 engages with the crowd, the way each member showcases their unique mastery of their instruments, and the fact that it feels like there are no 'passive' fans in attendance, only die-hards of all ages, is why i have to do this year after year

    Tiger Army at The Palladium

by Nate on 10/30/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Tiger Army at The Palladium were amazing. It was my first time attending a live show at this venue, and it did not disappoint. The sound was great, and the facilities and full bars were easily accessible. Will definitely revisit.

    !!!

by Joe on 10/30/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Very happy with my experience, very nice venue. Seemed like the sound check went a bit late leading to a slightly delayed start

    Tiger Army Rules

    by JB96 on 10/30/23Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood

Was great seeing Tiger Army again! Last time was Octoberflame in 2012. First time seeing a show at Hollywood Palladium, would definitely go see another show here. Drinks were pricey though. $17 for a Pabst! Crazy right.

    Audio mix bleh

by Rc on 11/3/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The opening bands audio mix was perfect almost not requiring hearing protection and even with hearing pro in sounded great hear all vocals and i instruments. By the time tiger army came on the bass would over power everything and distort to the point couldn't hear individual notes from the bass. The vocals also kept feeding back from having to push past the overbearing low end. As far as performance the show was amazing all 3 bands had a fantastic set.

    Decent Venue

by Bearcub on 11/2/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The venue, for the most part, is pretty decent. Sound quality was good no matter where we stood, sound engineers did a good job, and overall crowd din was not terrible. Drinks are definitely overpriced, as usual in any venue. Decent selection of beer and liquor. For the most part, security is acceptable. Bathrooms could stand to be a little bit bigger. The biggest headache, is getting into the space and how you need to line up along the exterior guardrail which then wraps around past the other shops. It took over an hour to get everyone in after doors were open. That's just inefficiency.

    Amazing time/venue

by Lisicheekypeaks on 11/2/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

Seriously one of the best shows I've been to in soo long. Been to stadium shows recently, but this smaller venue was an amazing vibe.

    Truly Majestic

by theGreyven on 11/1/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

It was my first time, finally seeing them live and knowing literally all the songs they played, really made me very happy. I know it’s out of anyone’s power to try to prevent mosh pits from happening but that’s what really would be the only negative.
