    Flashdance was very enjoyable

by NayNay510 on 4/22/16Lexington Opera House - Lexington

The singing was completely outstanding. The lead voices were as good as bigger shows. Script was good, but no amazing moments. Humorous. Story line was slightly altered from movie but it worked VERY well.

    Flashdance needs more dance.

by BBinBham on 4/20/16BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Flashdance didn't live up to the movie it was based on. The background /recorded music covered most of the actors singing & dialog. Very little dancing in this show, not anywhere near what was in the movie. But the sets were clever & many in the cast covered multiple characters.

    Unfortunately Underwhelmed

by Sabrinapup16 on 4/20/16BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The Good: the lead character was an amazing, skillful dancer and the cast gave a good & solid effort. Sound was not an issue with the music and very clear dialogue. The Not-so-Good: for the price of a Broadway show, the writing seemed a bit flat, some scenes were borderline sophomoric, and others had a high school musical feel. The Odd: The strangest thing was the climatic "poster shot" scene seemed like a 20 second afterthought. Really disappointing. Given the hype around "the scene" - the proverbial rug was pulled out from under the audience! The Bright Spot: The final scene was the saving grace. The lead character soared on that one.

    The Play Seemed to Drag

by Foresome on 4/19/16BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I was expecting a much more dynamic and lively performance - something more like footloose.

    Disappointed

by KateC22 on 4/19/16BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

This was not the level I expected for a nationally touring show. Cruise ship productions are better. Quite simply it was boring. Only bright spot was Alex. She could at least sing and dance.

    Flashdance review

by SSQ2 on 4/15/16Lexington Opera House - Lexington

The Flashdance musical was disappointing. Very talented actors/performers. However, I just didn't think it was close enough to the movie. Too different, too many "new" songs. And the "old" songs felt rushed.

    Disappointed

by Chuckdvc on 4/15/16Lexington Opera House - Lexington

Possibly I expected to much coming into it but I found the music lacking compared to many other shows I have seen. They just were not enjoyable. At time I felt as if I was in a Las Vegas night club. I realize the story line but feel it was to heavy in the scantily clad dance review. I do not suggest children at all. The couple next to us didn't even return after intermission.

    Missed the mark

    by Norfolk17 on 3/19/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

If you are a fan of the movie you will not enjoy this show. The play script did not translate well from the movie. Given the limitations of the stage the show just couldn't pull off the electricity of the movie. The show was an off broadway musical that was not up to par with the many shows I have seen at the Chrysler.

    Very Disappointed

by JosephineAjax on 3/18/16Adler Theatre - Davenport

I had been looking forward to this show and boy was it a big let down. I love musicals but this one just didn't hold my attention, it was slow moving. Numerous people around us left at intermission. The only good thing about the show is I didn't pay full price for my tickets, I would have been really upset had I paid full price
