About

Jack White in Concert

One of the premier rock stars of the 21st century, Jack White isn't just one the most electrifying guitar players and skilled songwriters of our time, he's a one-man music industry whose influence permeates mainstream and underground rock alike. Born in Detroit, White was a professional upholsterer before his primitive blues-punk duo, The White Stripes, became key instigators of an early-2000s garage-rock explosion that turned them into international media darlings. Certainly, there was no denying the firecracker spark of breakthrough singles like "Fell in Love With a Girl" and "Hotel Yorba," though the duo's striking red-and-white attire and carefully cultivated mystique — with White and his ex-wife/drummer Meg playing up the myth that they were a brother-sister act — no doubt amplified the hysteria around them. By 2003's ‘Elephant,' The White Stripes had fully outgrown their indie roots, with the brontosaurus-sized stomp of "Seven Nation Army" — a soccer-stadium anthem for the ages — revealing a grander vision that White would pursue up to the duo's 2007 swan song, ‘Icky Thump.'

Liberated from The White Stripes' minimalist formation, White has indulged his every creative whim, forming satellite bands (power-pop revivalists The Raconteurs, heavy-blues bruisers The Dead Weather) and embarking on an eclectic solo career that's yielded the downhome serenades of 2012's ‘Blunderbuss' and the dazzling baroque ‘n' roll of 2014's ‘Lazaretto.' At the same time, he's nurtured his Third Man Records label into a multi-purpose operation based in his current home of Nashville, encompassing a record store, recording studio, music venue, and vinyl pressing plant that's been at the forefront of the medium's revival. However, for all his dedication to keeping bygone styles and formats alive, White bristles at being painted as an old-school purist. And to prove it, he loaded up his wildly experimental 2018 release, ‘Boarding House Reach,' with all sorts of modernist touches, like Pro Tools productions and hip-hop-style drum breaks. His current tour finds him adapting those studio-sculpted creations for the stage with the help of a four-piece backing band — and don't be surprised if you see this guitar god get behind the drum kit to give those beats some extra oomph.

Husband is dying to see him again

    by Marisol H on 1/8/23

My husband loves him, he’s seen him multiple times and I’m hoping to get him a ticket for the upcoming concert. Jack never disappoints. His commitment to the art and fans is unbelievable.

    Epic Concert

    by B-man on 11/2/22Moda Center - Portland

I have been to countless concerts over the course of my 50+ years of life. The opening act Back Seat Lovers was extremely good. They were a great pick for Jack White to tour with. Jack White's concert was arguably the best concert I have ever attended. Great visuals, amazing performances and just damn amazing awesome music. I wish all live concerts could achieve this kind of perfection. This was my first Jack White concert and he blew away all of his studio recorded music with this performance. What an amazing musician.

    Amazing Show!

by Kevin S on 10/25/22James L Knight Center - Miami

Awesome show! He threw in a mix of everything - a couple Raconteurs, even a Dead Weather, and plenty of White Stripes. Also had a good mix of his solo stuff. It was a loud, hard show which I loved, but my friend wished it was a little more diverse, like his recordings. Everyone was on their feet the whole time. High energy! I would definitely see him again, and would definitely recommend!

Jack White's "Supply Chain Issues" Tour, Tucson

by Ronni N on 10/10/22Linda Ronstadt Music Hall - Tucson

I purchased tickets a few months ago for my birthday, a tradition of mine. I choose a favorite artist playing locally and try to attend sometime in September. Imagine my surprise and joy at learning that Jack White would be coming to Tucson, and performing in the Linda Ronstadt/Tucson Music Hall! So I pulled the trigger. On a rainy Friday night after a long day at work, I arrived at the venue with virtual ticket in hand. After showing my ticket and then having my cell phone bagged and locked (this was a new security method I'd not experienced--but fully understood), I entered the Hall and found my seat, 59D. Kinda the nosebleeds, but I was satisfied enough. The stage was set, and a DJ was spinning some awesome tunes as the audience waited in anticipation. 3 glasses of wine and 30 minutes later, the opening band came onstage, an act from Toronto that played rigorous rock-a-billy style music. As I waited for the main show to begin, I noted the diverse ages of the audience members and mused that I was not alone in appreciating White's musical style, which appeals to several generations of listeners. A nice gentleman I had been speaking to in line about my birthday ticket and love for the music appeared at my seat and told me "I have an empty seat on the 5th row aisle" and asked if I'd like to join him. Hellyeah to that! Finally, White's show was about to commence, and I was nearly front and center. After some polite converation and anticipation building, the show roared to a start, the MC/DJ pumping us up and sharing that this was the last show of the tour. The stage was sprawling with instruments, and the backdrop/lightshow was an artistic combination of animation and video spotlights of Jack and his bandmates. With seemingly no breaks in between, Jack White performed such gems as "Icky Thump", "You Don't Understand Me" (where he played the piano, a great moment for YT), and "Seven Nation Army" (accompanied by a giant projection of an animated tiger stalking the stage backdrop), along with many other favorites and some newer tunes as well. All the while, decked out in bright blue and white with matching guitars, Jack White ran the stage energetically, taking time to introduce his fantastic bandmates and addressing the audience briefly. There was a brief intermission when the band left the stage and the audience chanted for an encore. White popped back onto the stage, and the show continued with just as much energy as before, for another 30 minutes. White played a bluesy tune on a battered f-hole guitar, and connected with the audience in a way that I had rarely experienced at other shows. It was probably the best night I'd had at a show in nearly 30 years! I would definitely see a Jack White show again--from his years in the White Stripes, to the Reconteurs and beyond, there is so much rich material from this truly amazing artist. His appeal reaches across generations, and hopefully will continue to do so for many years to come.

First time I saw Jack perform.

by Brenda K. Crooks on 10/4/22Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium - Shreveport

I didn't much care for the band that performed before him. I believe their name was California Paradise. As for Jack I was impressed. He is a very talented musician. The light show was very impressive. To be honest I

    Never ceases to amaze

This is the third show I’ve been to this tour. Every show was a total different experience. I like that every set list is different. The staff had everything under control

    Sound was awful…

by Random1 on 10/4/22Linda Ronstadt Music Hall - Tucson

For context my seat was C36 in orchestra section (about six rows from the stage and a few seats in from the far left isle. I don’t mind loud concerts at all unless it sounds bad. In this case it was loud to the point of bad fidelity… mush. Maybe it was my location. Softer songs or song parts sounds good. Otherwise it was a good show.

    Jack White - Tucson September 30, 2022

by agene1 on 10/3/22Linda Ronstadt Music Hall - Tucson

Great venue and the staff was very efficient given Jack's "no phone" policy. I love Jack White no doubt, but I think he could have played longer seeing that is was his last show of the US tour. Bands that have been around much longer play twice the set he did. I will see Jack when ever and wherever I can having said that.
