Osipova and Golding were breathtaking...
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
To accommodate the Royal Ballet's marvelous Don Quixote choreography and prowess, our Auditorium stage needed to move out the side walls. Natalia Osipova and Matthew Golding's dancing and acting could not have been better. They both are other worldly they are so accomplished. Natalia's lovely point and arches are exquisite, such a joy to see. Would like having a book explaining all the meanings of storybook ballets' mime/pantomime gestures. The general ideas are easy, but the specifics are uncertain.

Don Quixote was exquisite
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
A magical performance by the Royal Ballet of Don Quixote. Magnificent sets, glorious costumes including peasant gowns and multiple tutus. The choreography and dancing were wonderful. My favorite was Yuhui Choe, a First Soloist with the company who danced the role of Kitri's friend. She had exquisite grace and stillness and commanded the stage and could also be light and flirty when required. I found her presence and dancing to be magnetic. I've seen Australian Ballet productions of Don Quixote with Sir Robert Helpmann and Colin Peasely. The delightful quirkiness and great humor of the Australian productions far exceeded this Royal Ballet version, but needless to say I enjoyed it very much. I was a tad disappointed that Don Quixote didn't swing on the windmill. His attack on the monster all seemed a bit tame. It's been many years since I've seen as many curtain calls. Seeing a story ballet with a live orchestra is very special.

Don Quixote
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
The ballet was fabulous with exceptional costumes and orchestra. The principal dancers were all first rate. In the interest of time there might be consideration to combining the 2nd and 3rd acts. The upholstery on the chairs in the boxes needs a deep cleaning and some minor repairs.

Fantastic
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
The ballet was fantastic. Little bits of humour punctuated the whole perfromance. Easy to watch even if you are not a seasoned ballet watcher. The venue is beautiful and comfortable. It is ballet at its highest level

Royal Ballet Triumph
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
I have seen a lot of ballet, but this must rank among the top. Acosta has done a great job of putting more life into the 1st act and bringing out the humor & pathos in Quxote. Excellent costumes and fabulous dancing!

The best Don Quixote I've ever seen!
Auditorium Theatre - Chicago
Carlos Acosta's choreography was a wonderful gift to ballet lovers, so joyful, so colorful. It was as a vivid representation of the Spain narrated by Cervantes in his glorious novel. All the members of the corp de ballet exhibited the highest quality technique and the principal dancers were such that one may believe that they were from a different world. The London Royal Ballet really exceeded my expectations.
