About

"Avenue Q" is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is "Avenue Q"; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian, the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiancée, Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod--a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

    Fantastic Show

by Wendy on 3/28/23North Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - Skokie

Not the first time I have seen this show but by far the best version. The actors expressions were so on point and the puppet manipulation fantastic. "Rod" deserves a special shout out. The voices were all strong , clear and a pleasure to listen too. Many laughs were had by all. The actors played to all areas of the audience too, as we were in a semi circle around the stage area. The theatre space was great too. My first time here all seats had great views. Thoroughly recommend this.

    Broadway Bound!

by BB on 3/27/23North Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - Skokie

The production was extremely well done. The orchestra was over the top. Voices and characterization spot on. It was an amazing evening worth the 1 1/2 hours trip from the southern suburbs! It’s hard to come up with accolades w/o gushing. I’ve recommended your production and your theatre to my friends. If I didn’t live in Tennessee I would be returning to see Pippin, Brigadoon and The Producers. Extremely high quality.

    Avenue Q is extraordinarily funny

by Tim on 3/14/23North Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - Skokie

Outstanding production of a entertaining musical using puppets. That’s right, I said puppets the performers are holding hand puppets who are the characters for this musical. Does that sound weird? Go and see it and you’ll never stop laughing.

    Great Musical, Energetic Performers

by Steve on 2/3/23John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

This was my second time seeing Avenue Q. I had seen it 10 years ago. It's my favorite musical, and this performance did not disappoint. I hope to see it again in the future.

    Awful

by Kelly on 1/30/23John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

What a misleading venue. We got tickets for seats in an actual theater! Show was in a side room with hard metal kitchen chairs. We were behind a pole. Left before the show even started. Never again Civic theater!

    Well Done!

by Carol Ann on 1/23/23John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

I brought my granddaughter to see the show, which I had seen previously several years ago. It was funny, funny, funny! I am always happy to see talented young people doing what they love! We both enjoyed it.

I have been waiting for several years to see Avenue Q, and the production exceeded my expectations. The cast and settings were wonderful. The venue is excellent, easy to drive into and out of. I love pocket-size theaters like this.

by JupiterStageMom on 12/7/16Aventura Arts & Cultural Center - Aventura

My 12-year-old daughter and I went to the show on Sunday. It was so funny. The audience was roaring with laughter. The cast was energetic and funny. The venue is very nice. We came all the way from Jupiter, but it was well worth it.

This was my first experience at the Aventura Theater, however this will not be the last. I was so pleasantly surprised at the level of talent in this production. The theater is lovely, acoustics wonderful. I will be back for many more shows.
