This is one of the most creative musicals I have seen. While I have never seen this show before, I am familiar with the story that it's based on. The story is of Joseph, a man gifted with the ability to foresee the future and decipher dreams, believes he is meant for greatness but gets sold into slavery and struggles to survive. This musical is based on and is very faithful to the story of Joseph found in the Bible's Book of Genesis 37. While it's a musical, it's not a conventional musical. First of all, there's hardly any spoken dialogue, nearly the entire show is sung. Second, every single song was done in a different musical style and genre of music. Thirdly, the sets reflected the style of music that the songs were being performed in. For choreography, this version of the musical was done in the style of hip-hop, which the costumes reflected a mixture of traditional and contemporary looks to tell the story. The singing was phenomenal, especially from the Narrator and Joseph. Those two had the strongest and most powerful voices of the whole show. The actors demonstrated their acting ranges and abilities by being both comedic and dramatic. Due to the fact that you're so invested in the performance, it flies by. Overall, this was a fun, bright, and energetic musical that I recommend you experience at least once.
