About

Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.

The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).

James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.

James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.

    Disappointing and Expensive

by Disappointed Fan on 4/11/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

The show itself was not great. We are huge fans of Kevin James, so we were pretty disappointed. Didn’t find him very funny and the opener was not funny. The last show was better when his brother opened for him. And this has nothing to do with the show, but the prices at the venue are ridiculous. Two mixed drinks were $56! We won’t be doing that again.

    Entertaining

by Mr. C on 4/10/24Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

Kevin James was extremely funny and his humor was clean! He talked about the funny things he encounters with life experiences. A pleasure to see. In addition, his warm -up act was very funny, clean humor and better than most warm up comedians.

Great show! But… started over 20 min late.

by Stephanie on 4/10/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Great show! Opening comedian act was really good. Of course Kevin James was great! But….. I do believe that every show should start promptly at the time that it was advertised to start. It was supposed to start at 7:30 and it was almost 8 o’clock by the time the opening act went on. With that being said, it was overall a great night.

    Kinda funny - kinda long

by Neededalaugh on 4/10/24Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

We love Kevin James. Really love him. His physical comedy and quick wit are just amazing. The show had a couple of hecklers which were rude and distracting. He told some long long stories about weight and about getting roles in movies, going to wendy's secretly, etc. The stories were ok, if you were sitting talking to him one on one, but seemed to be really drawn out - maybe to fill time? He had lived a lot of life and I am sure has a ton of funny stories, about friends, family, Hollywood, funny things that happened while making movies etc. Would have loved to have learned more about him. To us there is a lot more to him than 'fat comments' and late night wendy's runs. Maybe next time. Still huge fans.

    Expected More

by Mardy on 4/10/24Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

Venue was fantastic but expected much more from Kevin James. Laughed a couple of times but really expected to be rolling on the floor laughing. Found him to be funnier on TV then live.

    Okay

by Owls, go, who!!! on 4/9/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kevin James is always funny really enjoyable. I wish she had newer material. I saw him a year and a half ago at the improv in West Palm Beach. And now I saw him at the hard rock, with the same orientation, the same leaning over to the teacher about grapes and sitting on a little seat that was spreading out because his leg was getting out there were a few Parts of the routine that were the same with a little bit of new stuff interjected. But when you pay over $400 for tickets, you expect a little different.
