The music was fantastic and each of the musicians had an opportunity to do a 'solo' piece so that the audience could appreciate their individual talent. The singing was wonderful and the sound was excellent.
Beautiful venue, and the band was absolutely amazing.
Saw them first night. Regretted I didn't have tickets for the next time too. Unbelievable.
Great music, warm spirit and wonderful audience interaction. Que viva Cuba!
True voodoo. Spiritual music straight from the soul. Transcends all categories or time. Gives proof to Ellington ' s quote that there's only two kinds of music - the good stuff and the other kind. This was the good stuff. Omara Portuondo and Eliado Ochoa need to be singled out, as do laud player Barbarito Torres and pianist Ronaldo Luna. Also amazing was opening act Andrea Motis. This young woman, barely out of her teens, is an absolutely captivating singer and trumpet player. I look forward to seeing her for years to come, even as I bid Adios to the members of Buena Vista.
Show was amazing. The energy was great. I was so happy to get to see them again and the tv screen was a beautiful touch. Thank you for a great show.
The music tradition was authentic to the Cuban sound...... Rare talent.. My husband and I are very familiar to music particularly Latin-Salsa sound. We were not disappointed.
The show was incredible. These are true artists that continue to emote through their musical talent and share this openly with their audience. Despite the loss of some of the members of the group, the bond that these performers share transcends time. What was disappointing, however, was the audience themselves. They were a mature crowd, estimated at about 85% caucasian. Before I continue, I feel obliged to state that I, myself am a 39 year old Caucasian female. However, the rest of the crowd did not even appear to know the music, and were offensive when I tried to dance and enjoy the performance. I wound up moving from my front seats to dance in the back of the theater so as not to upset anyone. To me, this is not thoroughly enjoying a musical performance. Living in NYC, I am all about new cultural experiences and am excited for anyone to come and experience Buena Vista Social Club. But, I am not ready to be scolded to sit in my seat and not to dance or enjoy the show.
They were great in every way possible!!! They played so many good songs and didn't disappoint one bit. I would recommend everyone to see them live before it's too late. These guys have a lot of music in them and they are only getting older.
