    Unpleasant and Depressing

    by JAZZKAT26 on 8/19/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Expecting an uplifting and inspiring story, I was left feeling greater despair as each event unfolded. Sound was poor. Muffled voices with terribly loud music. I am an educator and have a good understanding of autism

Don't go or waste your money

by JTALGAL on 8/7/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

My daughter, who is 14, and I went to the show for our date night and were extremely disappointed with the show, so much so that we left at intermission. When you first walk in and see the stage, a fake dog is in the middle of the stage with a pitchfork-type tool sticking out of the dog, which was an immediate turn-off for us as we are dog owners. The first few words of the play were F-bombs, which was hardly appropriate for even me. The play then moved into very mature subject matter with adultery, lies and just at times what seemed to be a jumble bit of action on-stage. We did not read the book that the play was based on and instead relied on the fact that this was a Tony-award-winning play. This play is for adults and not something to take kids or young adults to. We saw several people leave even before the intermission and did not hesitate to leave ourselves. I just hate that I wasted almost $200 to see an awful play (there was no orchestra or any other redeeming qualities about the play itself, but the Paramount is always a beautiful place to be).

Husband loved it. I loathed it.

by Treeshy on 8/2/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I was bored, bored, bored! Others must have been dissatisfied also as seats emptied out at intermission & did not return. My husband appreciated the content & acting. He struggled a bit with hearing the words as the sound system was poor quality.

    Remarkable Adaptation of the Book

by carriechris on 8/2/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I thoroughly enjoyed this production! I had left the book, and wondered how they were turn it into a play. It was amazing and hol I thoroughly enjoyed this production! I had left the book, and wondered how they were turn it into a play. It was amazing and held very true to the content of the book. The actors were absolutely amazing and talented. I laughed a lot but also found it very poignant to see how people with autism struggle to function in a busy world

Curious inside the of the dog in the night

    by Rose1968 on 8/2/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

We could not hear the dialog which made for a disappointing experience the father characters voice and the narrators voice was garbled . The young boys voice carried well. We were sitting relatively close in the first mezzanine tie F seats 3 &4. My 6'2" husbands legs were cramping up too as the seats are so close. Will look for an isle seat for him next time. Anyway we left at intermission and did not come back. Also for such a beautiful theater was noticing all the duct tape on the carpet. Way past time to recarpet!!!

    The Curious Incident was outstanding!!

    by Sonoman1 on 8/2/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was an amazing experience. It is unlike any show I have ever seen. It's visually stimulating and at times overwhelming. This is a great look into the mind of an autistic child. The acting is superb and the movement was complex and enthralling. A truly original production with a set that is technologically complex yet visually minimalistic, full of surprise cubby holes and visual display magic. My wife and I were blown away! ... And be sure to stay after the curtain call for a fun treat!

Curious Incident was powerful and insightful.

by Techieatheart on 8/1/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

We loved the play. Although we did not read the book, our friends who joined us said it captured the book perfectly. From our perspective, it was a very poignant play that utilized technology and very simple theatrical devices to put you in the mind of someone who is a genius in many respects but is extremely challenged when it comes to functioning in the world beyond home and school.

Great show, but not the right venue

by Kiliii on 7/31/17Paramount Theatre - Seattle

The performances were excellent. The stage and set were also great. Unfortunately I think the Paramount is not the venue the show was designed for-- it was probably meant for a black box or smaller venue in general as the set was small and the props small as well. It was tough to hear the actors, though we were on the first mezzanine, so only halfway to the back of the theatre. I'd also say that the script could have been cut down a bit to make it more concise. There were long moments of monologue that took away from the power of their sentiment because they dragged on a bit. Overall, very well done but the venue really took away from the show.
