WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

    Love the show

    I love this show and have seen it 5 times. 4 times were at the orpheum and 1 time was at the Gershwin Theater in New York. While I do believe the actresses that played Glenda and Elphoba were talented, I do not believe they were the best performers for the roles. Their version of the music was a little more like opera and harder to understand. I have taken new people each time I have seen Wicked and the people I took this time weren’t very thrilled nor entranced like others that I have taken have been.

    Our group of 5 included a 35 year old woman who had never been to see a Broadway show and didn't think she would enjoy it. She LOVED Wicked and immediately wanted to go again, and, to any upcoming show! The rest of us loved it even though it was the 2nd or 3rd time to see Wicked. Great job by cast and crew. The Orpheum in Memphis is an amazing place!!!

    While there are many words to use to describe Wicked, the best that I can think of is AMAZING!!! It was a great performance from beginning to end!

    Best Show Ever!!! I took my daughter and 3 of our friends to see Wicked. It was entertaining all the way to the end. Drama, sass, comedy, all the things. The songs were fantastic and the cast were beyond perfection! The employees were kind, helpful and cheerful. Loved the whole experience and can not wait to see it next time around. 5 Stars!!!

    I had not seen a play since high school. I did not know what to expect when I first got the tickets, nor when the show initially began. I was so pleasantly surprised when the show completely engulfed me with humor, passion, and incredible acting/singing. I would pay good money to go see the show again.

    The Orpheum did not disappoint again!! Wicked was phenomenal!! Bought these tickets for my daughter to celebrate her 17th birthday and we were both on the edge of our seats as we had never seen Wicked before. Amazing cast, effects, and atmosphere!!
