    Utah Mar. 13th game

    by Mrs. Solstice on 3/17/24

This was a spectacular experience my son had so much fun to start off the day. At magic pass the big guy 47 played one on one with my son. My son had a blast playing with the generals although the general dunked on him ;). My son told me he wanted to cheer for the generals the whole game. The generals played so well and hit a lot of great shots. The female general really shot the ball well. After the game number 47 came over and picked my son up and put him on his shoulder and took pictures with him and gave him his arm sleeve. We will be back next year just to see the big guy, my sons new favorite basketball player.

    Kids will LOVE it!

by Mike on 3/14/24Rogers Place - Edmonton

This was my first time seeing the Globetrotters in maybe 35 years. Still an impressive range of skills and they've switched up a few things over the years to keep it fresh. Almost worth the price of admission to see them pull off the finale. It was fun for me, but my 9yo son had a GREAT time and wouldn't stop talking about basketball (a sport that is not super popular in our household). Be sure to budget a few extra bucks to bring home a Globetrotters basketball, which was a VERY popular souvenir item.

    Disappointed

by MV on 3/13/24EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

The PA system at Eagle Bank Arena is terrible. We could barely understand what was being said half the time. The Globetrotters were often funny but not like the old days. If you go, pay the extra money to sit right up front. That would help with the acoustics and being able to see the players up close might make the show better.

Very limited tricks throughout the performance. We had seats higher up in the arena and the acoustics were terrible, making it very difficult to hear most of what was being said.

It was just okay, but really seemed watered down

by KC on 3/13/24Rogers Place - Edmonton

The overall performance was just okay. But the Globetrotter players, well it just seemed like the group they sent to Edmonton was a watered down version of the Globetrotters you see on TV or I remember from before. I can't remember ever watching a group of Globetrotter players that missed so many regular shots. Like, during warmup, I was stunned at how many shots they missed and this was just them out on the floor taking practice regular shots. Even some of the Trick shots, they never did pull them off and after 10+ tries just gave up. During the supposed game, i don't know how they got so many points, as they hardly ever hit a 3 pointer or even a regular shot. Oh Yeah the one guy hit a few 4 pointers. But the Girl on the Generals was more impressive with her 3 pointers. Most times they had to cover up the poor shots with somebody slam dunking a rebound from a poor shoot. The Generals were better shots and they played with some effort and hardly missed any shots! The Globetrotter players just seemed to be going through the motions with no real effort and even some of the used to be "amazing to watch"routines, just didn't work and they didn't really care. Yes there were some that seemed to be trying to spark life in this dead horse. But most were just putting in time. For the money that they got from Edmonton and it was an nice time at 3pm with a Great crowd, on a Sunday afternoon. The Merchandise booth being right behind the Playing court was a big distraction too, if you were sitting too close to the court end line. The Merchandise lineup and all the people around the booth was just interfering with people trying to watch the game with all of these people right in front of you or going up and down the aisles next to you. It couldn't keep the interest of a 9yr boy and an Adult. It was just disappointing, especially for the money paid for good seats.

    Lackluster and annoying

by Mitch on 3/13/24EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

Both my boys (6 and 9) play basketball and have for a few years. This was a surprise to them for their birthdays in a few weeks. The issue was as much with the arena as the event. Arena: The traffic lights and parking surrounding the stadium were not set up to handle to influx of traffic (turn lane timer adjusted or cops directing traffic) like other events I have been to and this caused a large portion of the audience to get there 10-15 minutes late due to the slow process of actually getting there even though we left 30 minutes earlier than we needed. Next, the tickets did not mention anything of a partially blocked view, but there was a giant railing at eye level for us. We either had to sit slumped down or sit absolutely straight up to peer over the bard. It continued the bad experience as we took our seats and realized what was happening. Event: I remember watching globetrotter events on TV and highlights on youtube and they were very fun and entertaining. This was something else, it was not very good, even my boys who love basketball were not feeling it. One of the players is mic'd up and talking the entire time, his routine/jokes were not funny or entertaining. It was very annoying and took away from the performance. The team ran the same passing play a ton of times so there was variety at all in the tricks they performed. I'd rather watch And1 highlights on youtube on my big screen than pay for this again. Save your money and pay to go see an NBA game.
