Beauty and the Beast was spectacularly funny!
The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach
The set design was beautiful. As were the costumes. The story deviated slightly from the animated cartoon, with more dialogue and sillier antics. I think the only thing I did not care for too much was the Beast's childish behavior. Other than that, the show was spectacular!

Extreme Disappointment
Eisenhower Hall Theatre - West Point
I was looking forward to this event for a while. I have seen the show years ago on Broadway in Manhattan and I loved every minute of it. This show was a big disappointment from start to finish. Belle was not good at all. Her voice was not strong enough and I did not feel like she fit the character at all. She seemed as if she was not in Character. We sat in the orchestra towards the back and could barely hear the dialogue. They also added a lot of scenes that were not necessary. I was actually bored and could not wait for it to be over which is sad considering it is my all time favorite Disney movie. However, all the other characters I felt did do a great job they all had powerful voices especially Gaston! There were a few funny moments that I did laugh at but over all I would not recommend to spend the money to see it.

Beauty and the Beast had its highs and lows
The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach
I was expecting more experienced actors and felt the Belle character did not have a very powerful voice, while most of the other characters did. The scenery and costumes were very good.

Beauty and the Beast met expectations
The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach
Whenever you go into a Disney musical production you will always compare it to the movie version. This production of Beauty and the Beast met those milestones you were expecting with some fun new surprises. The dialogue had a lot more adult jokes and provided more insight into new characters. My only complaint are minor. The orchestra was a little too loud at points drowning out the dialogue which may have been due to the smaller venue size. The iconic yellow dress was also lack luster. Other then that an enjoyable evening for all.

A wonderful show!
The Stanley - Utica
Disney always does it right! This was a funny, clever show with wonderful songs and characters. I loved seeing the movie when my kids were small and the play is equally enjoyable. Highly recommend for all ages!

Disappointing for the ticket price
The Stanley - Utica
Performance lacked energy and certain cast members seemed to be just going thru the motions. Dancing often lacked the technique professionals should exhibit; it's not that hard to point your toes and straighten the knees! Leads should have been miked better during solos, difficult to hear lyrics over the orchestra (which was excellent). This was day 2 of the run, the sound issue should have been fixed during the 1st perf. Lumiere took 1/3 of the show to get his accent consistent and did not appear to be even trying to sound French at the beginning, which I found distracting/ sloppy acting. On the plus side, sets and scenery were terrific and the scene changes cleverly done. Lighting and lighting effects were excellent!
Don't miss the smash Broadway musical that's based on the 1991 Disney film. "Beauty and the Beast" tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial French town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an evil enchantress. If the beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will be ended and he will be transformed into his former self. Time is running out. If Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Music by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Howard Ashman & Tim Rice.
