Great show
The Magnolia - El Cajon
What a fun show. Kenny Metcalf is a great Elton John Impersonator. He sounds like Elton, played the piano like Elton, and sang all the hits. His band was tight also. What a fun night! First time at the Magnolia, it's close to home. I look forward to seeing other acts there.

Great voice but expected more energy from the show
The Magnolia - El Cajon
Kenny gas a great voice and was funny and nice, but if you go to tribute show for Elton John what would you expect? I would expect many costume changes as experienced trough the years of musical hits and big energy, sadly it was not the case, the sound experience was terrible and off putting, The Magnolia is a small and very comfortable venue but the sound was way way to loud and distorted, it drowned out Kenny's voice, lots of people left the show before it was over same as me.

Great Elton Show with The Who Opening!!!
The Magnolia - El Cajon
Kenny did a great job with his band playing many of Eltons best songs. The opening act The Who Experience was also great they sounded just like The Who.

the sound system was terrible.
The Magnolia - El Cajon
I was very disappointed by the sound system. I've been at that venue before and was very happy. But this time whoever was running the sound board should be fired. There was so much distortion/ reverb, and the base was way too much. We had to leave because the sound was really brothering, my boyfriend. We meet several couples leaving due to the sound .

Tribute Bands
The Magnolia - El Cajon
One of the better tribute shows that I've seen. Kenny looks similar to EJ and played the role somewhat convincingly and the music was right on. Having seen EJ a couple of times in the early years, the real EJ was more visible on stage than in this show. In this show he was more in the background with the guitarists seeming to be more visible. Nevertheless it was a very entertaining show and if you shut your eyes, the music and the voice were accurate enough to make you feel that you were at an actual EJ show.

Kenny Medcalf
The Magnolia - El Cajon
Unfortunately, I and my friends did not enjoy the show. The instruments were very loud and overpowered the vocals. None of us could understand any of the singing. We all left with very bad headaches.

Good show, bad sound
The Magnolia - El Cajon
The band was really good for both sets: The Who and Elton John. The venue, The Magnolia, just can't deliver a good sound experience - again. Volume, volume, and more volume drowning out the vocals. A good crowd with only a few empty seats.
