Good But.....
Signature Theatre - Arlington
The actors/singers were good & played their roles well, BUT the problem that we had with the performance was that there was no context for the songs. We had not seen any of the plays from which the music was taken, so we could not relate to the words of the songs. It was also difficult to understand the words of songs that were sung in the higher registers of the scale.

Simply Sondheim, Simply Delicious!
Signature Theatre - Arlington
I've been a Sondheim groupie my whole life. Been there, done that. Signature's Simply Sondheim was able to perfectly sum up the true passion of this talented storyteller. With a brilliantly talented cast and orchestra, all aspects were over the top professional and it was an evening I will never forget. I also want to say that the staff at Signature are the kindest and customer friendliest I have ever met in the business! It's a 4 hour round trip drive for me and well worth it! Thank you! (P.S. Because of car trouble on Thursday, I actually had to switch my ticket to Friday. Customer service at both Signature and TicketMaster were spectacular!)

I loved the whole performance. The singing, and choreography were superb. Now, could we please have a CD of the whole thing?? Thank you all.

Seamless Sondheim
Signature Theatre - Arlington
Simply Sondheim was a wonderful evening of the composers songs, carefully selected to bring us on a seamless journey through many of his musicals. It was presented as a concert with a 15 piece orchestra and 6 singers on stage. Each number was directed/choreographed to bring out the exact flovour of the lyrics and there was a tremendous ease with which it was all performed, given the complexity of Sondheim's music. My only complaint was that it ended too quickly!
