About

JONNY LANG IN CONCERT:

Acclaimed blues singer and axeman Jonny Lang is a true guitar player's guitarist, a legend among fingerpickers around the world for his ferocious playing and virtuosic technique.  From his days as a teenage prodigy performing for Bill Clinton to his stints on tour with legends like B.B. King and Aerosmith, Lang has proven himself to be an electrifying performer, as adept on originals like "Lie to Me" as he is covering class acts like Stevie Wonder and Edgar Winters. Taking the stage with his signature bluesy croon and trusty Fender Telecaster guitar, Lang is set to stun on his upcoming US tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Lang took up the guitar at age 12. By his early teens, he was skilled enough to join his guitar teacher's band, which was renamed Kid Jonny Lang & The Big Bang in his honor. After signing to A&M records at age 16 he released his 1997 solo debut Lie to Me, a critical and commercial success that landed on the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum. 1998 follow-up Wander this World was a similar success, cracking the US Top 40 and earning him a Grammy nomination. In 2013, he topped the Blues Albums chart with his sixth studio album Fight for My Soul, also reaching No. 2 on the Christian Albums chart. A fiery performer with skill to spare, Lang will continue to deliver big on his upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Jonny Lang blew me away the entire show. His guitar playing is remarkable. His voice is so soulful, you can tell he feels every word that he sings."

"What a talent! Just oozes out of him. It was so great to just watch him play. He seems to love it so much. This was an awesome show."

"If you have never seen Jonny Lang you are missing one of the true masters of the Ax. One of the highlights was his rendition of Stevie Wonder's hit 'Living For the City.' Stevie would have been proud."

by Sargekarter on 2/20/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

Jonny Lang: discovered him in 2007. I’ve got all his CD’s and have seen him 14 times. Outstanding man seems to have been born to play that there guitar from the womb. His gift to us is to be exactly who he is. Thank you and may God bless your family as you travel and sacrifice to be a provider for your family.

    Very uncomfortable

by Nicki D. on 2/18/20Chandler Center for the Arts - Chandler

We arrived at the concert on time and we enjoyed the opening act a lot. During the opening act was when I realized how uncomfortable I was those chairs are not comfortable in the slightest. I really didn’t enjoy the concert for moving around in my chair trying to get comfortable. Johnny was the same show I saw last time so that was a bit of a bummer too! Uncomfortable was my first thought. Those with me said the same thing and I didn’t even bring it up they did.

    Good music

by Weldergoddess on 2/18/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

Too short, but a great venue. I, personally, believe that it’s not a concert unless the headliner plays at least 2 hours. I drive from the Monterey bay area to pay to see Jonny Lang. The whole concert was less than an hour and a half. Never again Montbleu!!!!!

    Short and sweet

by Anna on 2/18/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

I have seen Jonny Lang numerous times over the past 10 years and he's still one of my favorites to see live. The show was good, though a bit anticlimactic and very short. He played for exactly 60 minutes with no opener and that was it. I understand he's had some vocal issues lately and assume that is the culprit because this hasn't been my experience in the past. All and all, it was a good show and I look forward to seeing him again the next time he's in town.

    Disappointed

by Julie on 2/18/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

I was really looking forward to this show as I loved Jonny back in the day. The concert was very short, only one hour, and there was no opener. His voice sounded ok, but he didn’t really sing many of his old songs. I wish I would have read past reviews, since we planned a whole weekend in Tahoe around this show.

    Not at his best

by Picman on 2/18/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake Tahoe

My fourth JL show. 3rd at this venue. At his best, Jonny's amazing voice and guitar skills have blown me away. Not so much this show. This was a short show. The started 15 minutes late a barely played over an hour. They seemed to rush through the same playlist I've seen at earlier shows that have lasted over two hours. JL has some great new/old songs - let's hear them! Also, there were multiple blown speakers in the stack. Sound quality sucked. I blame this on MontBleu. Sorry, but this may be may last Jl show. rdp
