  • Great show, terrible audience

by Huffing hufflepuff on 10/25/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 3 out of 5

The orchestra was great but unfortunately for many parts of the movie the sound of music was drowned out by the audience screaming and shouting at unnecessary and inopportune times. The conductor had encouraged interaction but this audience took it way too far. Additionally, the people sitting inside our row rudely kept getting up and down, even during the movie. At one point, a guy sat down and crushed my knee under the chair, which I had turned sideways to allow him to pass.

  • Live music and a big screen!

I really enjoyed getting to hear and feel the philharmonic and opera playing along with the movie. The opera portion was especially stirring.

After reading all the HP books and watching the movies, this FAR exceeded my expectations. A totally unique experience, we enjoyed it so much that we purchased tickets for next years performance. Definitely looking forward to October 2026

  • Fantastic Experience

by Alyssa on 10/22/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

The staff are INCREDIBLY kind, helpful and joyful. I had a great time purchasing a drink and candy from two separate snack bars (the margarita seltzer was awesome). The ushers were quick to help us to our seats, and the view from our seats was perfect! I am glad for the intermission in the show as well. The bathrooms were great as well, it had the most privacy I've seen in a bathroom, which was a great experience. The lounge upstairs felt so high class, very relaxing to sit there with my drink before the show. I will return every year for the Harry Potter event, and hope to find other shows to see here!

  • Spellbinding evening!

Harry Potter In Concert is one of my favorite evenings of the year! This third installment: The Prisoner of Azkaban, did not disappoint! The orchestra played beautifully and it brought so much more intensity and feeling to every scene of the movie. The addition of the choir this year added magic and whimsy to it all. Overall, the experience of watching the movie with a giant community of "Potter-Heads"was invigorating, and I can't wait until The Goblet of Fire next year!

  • Event itself was great!

by Kelz on 10/21/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 3 out of 5

The orchestra itself was amazing! I wouldn’t go again though. I don’t understand why people were cheering every time a new character appeared throughout the movie or during important scenes, when the orchestra is playing. I couldn’t even hear the orchestra sometimes. It was a nice experience but I wouldn’t pay $150 again for this.

  • Dress Up!!

by Albus on 10/20/25SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

This our second HP concert. The orchestra was fantastic and the addition of the choir was great. I wish more people would dress up. The conductor should use one of Ollivander's wands! We dressed up as Dumbledore, Trewlaney, and Parvati. Great fun.

  • Gave The Movie A New Meaning

by Chester Francis on 3/13/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Hi! Great experience - the movie now has a new meaning and appreciation to my life. I felt the energy from the crowd was received by the orchestra, and for music folks like myself; their response back was received with even more emotion. That said, as an instrumentalist myself - I was twice as tired walking out of that venue as I would be in a dark theatre. I personally disliked the subtitles to the movie because my eyes were already up and down, back and forth between movie screen and orchestra. In fact it took me half the concert to realize there was truly a choir in the back (I was upper east section). The subtitles only added a third entity for the eyes to focus on, which distracted me from the movie itself (perhaps its a personal issue). I was personally there for the music, and the lighting off of the brass (purple with gold for the majority of the event) was perfect and added to every movement of the orchestral members. The seating hasn't changed at the Jube for years and I don't expect it to anytime shortly, but the seating is tight for those that haven't been to the venue. Your going to smell your neighbors, your going to touch legs, and when one person has to get up for a leak - the entire row will be standing. Great night, great event, and will definitely do again. Hands down to the Orchestra, wonderful job!

  • Great show

by Naomi on 3/10/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Was a great show, great music. Nice big screen. Was long, as there was an intermission. Had seats quit high up and could still see the orchestra.
