NEW SECURITY PROCEDURES: As part of stepped-up
security measures being instituted throughout
the nation, the City of Salem is following suit
imposing tighter safety procedures at the
Salem Civic Center and the Salem Football
Stadium.

*Effective immediately pocketbooks and personal
carrying cases of patrons entering either
facility will be searched. All backpacks,
coolers, packages and containers of any kind
are prohibited.

*City Manager Forest Jones met with Civic Center,
school and police officials today to put into
place stricter admittance requirements aimed
at providing confidence that facilities in
Salem are safe.

"We want our patrons to not only feel safe when
they attend an event in Salem, but to have
assurance that we have taken proactive steps
to provide the highest level of security
available throughout the City," Jones said.

*Football fans who leave the stadium will be
required to pay full ticket price upon
re-entering the stadium, and if they are
carrying pocketbooks and personal carrying
cases, those items will be searched on their
return.

Children Rules:

In general, children under two not occupying a seat are free. Exceptions to this policy are Sesame Street Live and Bear in the Big Blue House - please see event detail page for age restrictions on these events.
