The Art Institute is 2 blocks West of Lake Shore Drive (US 41).From Lake Shore Drive exit at Monroe or Jackson Boulevard.
The museum can also be easily reached from I-90/94 or 290.

The Michigan Avenue is wheelchair accessible, as are all public areas inside the Art Institute. A limited number of wheelchairs are availble free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.General Rules
A Check room is located at the Michigan Avenue lobby. There is a $1.00 charge per item for checking service. Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries and cannot be checked.Please note: The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to discontinue checking of any item at any time.

Photography of loan exhibitions is not permitted. Still photography of works in the permanent collection is permitted, however NO tripods, lights, flash bulbs or video equipment will be allowed.
Recording Devices are not permitted.
