    Fantastic Time for Cheap!

by Gary on 6/3/22Cheney Stadium - Tacoma

Tacoma Defiance games are always a good time. The crowds tend to be small at Cheney, but so are the ticket prices. The players are fantastically fun to watch, however, and I would recommend everyone and anyone go and see a game live if/when they can. Sadly, there's only one more chance this year; tomorrow 6/4/2022 at 7pm ... and beyond that, they'll be back up in Tukwila again. GO IF YOU CAN! IT'S WORTH IT!

by Sandra on 10/22/19Cheney Stadium - Tacoma

Thus was a great season ending match for the Defiance. I’m SO glad we went and the atmosphere was so much fun. Next season, people need to go and support these young guys.

    Will do it again

by NorCal Defiance Fan on 8/12/19Cheney Stadium - Tacoma

Came up for a 3 soccer game weekend (Defiance, Sounders, Reign). Started the weekend with the Defiance game. Fun and welcoming crowd. Great intimate stadium. Good time. Will definitely do this again. Highly recommend a defiance game.

    Inaugural game

    by E. on 3/11/19Cheney Stadium - Tacoma

This was an amazing experience. There wasent a sold out crowd, which was actually nice. I didn’t have to wait 20 min to get a beer, food, or use the restroom. The event staff were on top of everything. And on top of all that Tacoma won. It feels good to have a home team finally. Will DEFIANTLY be going to more games

    Players are trying their best!

by ColdStoneJohn on 9/5/18Cheney Stadium - Tacoma

This is our first semi pro soccer match been to Sounders as well as a few international matches in Seattle. First I love how R stadium and accommodate soccer. Great seats and sight lines throughout the stadium. The only disappointment was being there with a few thousand fans scattered throughout and that may be an over estimate. Until S2 can attract a full stadium consistently there is no need to build a separate soccer stadium. This match was well played with hardly any stoppage time. It ended a draw so a win win.

Absolutely loved it. Opening game with 5000 plus fans and a team fired up to play. Considering season tickets now.

    Choices

by nickthecat on 8/11/15Starfire Sports - Tukwila

The habit of substituting fresh, energetic players too late in the game applies to both Sounders teams. Past 65 minutes, the change does not usually take effect. The back line was seriously depleted by the absence of Damian Lowe, a consistently excellent "wall". Aaron Long and Andres Correa did herculean duty. The strikers needed a boost in energy, accuracy, and aggression. Again, that would benefit from earlier substitutions. Unfortunately, there are few strikers left on S2. I think coaching choices were weak. The referee was inadequate, and he became worse as the game went on. "Self policing" has never worked. Accountability and public scrutiny must be instituted in the oligarchy of refereedom. As always, they played with their hearts on their sleeves. They deserved a better outcome, having dominated much of the game, until they were worn out.

Lovely night at S2 game. They played well and were joyful and adept. Teamwork was nifty, even the new players. I did not like the brutality from several of the Arizona players, and thought the ref did a very poor job, worse in the first half, but he lost control of game early on. Referring has been largely grim for S and S2. It seriously undermines my enjoyment of the game when the mistakes on the part of the referee are obvious and dangerous. But the game was fun, except the injuries. TWO S2 players on stretchers!
