About

About Summertime Brews Festival

During warm summer months, nothing compares to a relaxing day hanging outside, frosty beverage in hand, while soaking up live music and hanging with good pals. Then again, there's also something to be said for embarking on a high-impact hunt for interesting beers and microbreweries, since small-batch suds often offer the most intriguing — and palate-tingling — options.

Both of these reasons go a long way to explain why the annual Summertime Brews Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina, is such an in-demand event — and has only grown more popular in recent years. Founded in 2005, the one-day, charitably minded festival is a veritable craft beer paradise bringing together 500 beloved brews all in one place. These aren't just local hidden gems, either: Breweries from all corners of the U.S., from lesser-known brands to those with name recognition, converge on Greensboro to participate.

In addition to taste-testing unlimited suds samples, attendees can enjoy live music and nosh on food from local eateries. Best of all, grabbing a ticket to this beer bacchanalia won't break the bank: Regular admission includes a keepsake souvenir, drink pours, and entertainment. (Food and other nonalcoholic drinks do cost extra.) For those looking to have a more leisurely way to sample brews, the Ultimate VIP tier allows ticket holders to enter at noon, three hours before regular admission pass holders. The Classic VIP tier, meanwhile, gives access 90 minutes early. The non-VIP, general admission tier won't be too rushed, though, as guests have three hours to sample everyone's alcoholic wares.

The Summertime Brews Festival tends to draw well, so buying tickets in advance is highly encouraged. Those already going will know to expect to rub elbows with thousands of other like-minded beer lovers on a quest to seek out their favorite buzz — and maybe even discover a new favorite thirst-quencher(s).

    Awesome and fun

Had a great time, very relaxed environment, not to hot even while we were inside, good drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to chill, walk, and have a good time.

    Summertime Brewfest

by Amy on 7/19/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Loved the variety of vendors however I feel like an app would be helpful where each vendor lists what they are sampling. That way when you leave or find something you like you can go back and find it.

    Missing Cassette Rewind

by S.R. on 7/31/19Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The festival was well run, we got in at noon with no wait. There were very short lines for the beer and a nice selection of breweries, cideries and meaderies. Food trucks were great. My only complaint is that you did not have Cassette Rewind as your second band. By 3 or 4pm, the VIPs have done most of the tasting and are looking to dance and mingle. No one can get a crowd dancing together better than Cassette Rewind. They are talented and engaging and truly one of the things I look forward to the most about BrewsFest. PLEASE bring them back next year!!!

    A Spectacular Event

by T.S.M. on 7/23/19Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The event was a blast. The bands played an awesome performance and they were absolutely fantastic! The vendors and staff made us all feel at home and overall it was a friendly atmosphere. It was a happy and unforgettable time there at the Summertime Brews Festival and I would definitely love to go again. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to have a relaxing fun time and enjoys tasting all the wonderful flavors of beers that they have to offer. Most of all the music. The music is the icing on the cake!

    Fun at Brewfest

by gstiehm13 on 8/1/18Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

There were good samples and most pourers were great for giving only a taste when I requested it. The only downfall, maybe have an area for sitting, for a break or two. I stood/walked for over 4 hours! I was quite tired by the time I got home!

Was it worth extra pay for the VIP ?

by Clapp3 on 6/28/16Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

As always, I really enjoyed the Summertime Brews Festival this year. After standing out in line in the hot sun to get in last year, we decided to spring for the VIP tickets this year to get in a little earlier and hopefully get a few more perks. This year's brewsfest, the line was just as long to get in at the VIP time, and when we got inside, it didn't seem any different than us getting in at the regular time last year. No real extras that I could see. We still had a great time, and will definitely go again next year. But, I don't know that we'll spring for the VIP tickets unless there are more noticeable extras.

    Great time!

by skbuilder on 6/28/16Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This beer festival was the best that I have attended in a long time. Entry was smooth and quick. The venue itself was very good - cool (it was warm outside) with adequate bathroom facilities (always important at a beer festival). The beer selection was quite large and I particularly enjoyed the extensive collection of NC brewers. I'll be back next year.
