    Beatles Night

by Mikemaine on 11/28/17State Theatre - Portland

I went to both the Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's shows. They were fantastic! Have gone for each of the past three years and am amazed that these musicians can produce such a high quality performance on the full range of complicated Beatles songs. Bravo!

    Spencer Albee and FRIENDS

by Anonymous on 11/28/17State Theatre - Portland

We went to all 3 shows. Loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I thought all musicians were extremely talented. The folks working security & bars were all really nice and professional, too.

    The 14th annual Beatles night

    by Gert1905 on 12/2/16State Theatre - Portland

This was a fabulous show! Talented local musicians played some of my favorite tunes. This was my first year attending and I don't know how I missed this in years past. Won't miss another!

    Always a stunning experience!

    by Buzzy12 on 11/30/16State Theatre - Portland

This event has become part of our Thanksgiving holiday tradition! The depth of talent that graces that stage is profound & I'm always left thinking I need to dig into the Portland music scene so much more. Usually we go to the Saturday evening performance however this year we found ourselves at the matinee. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of children present & it was truly a testament to the wide & timeless appeal of the Beatles. A good time was had by all & I truly look forward to next year's performance!!

A Splendid Time was guaranteed for all!

by MellowJim on 11/30/16State Theatre - Portland

It was just a great show. Full of fun and solid music. You have to remember The Beatles didn't do most of the songs played in this show live, so for anyone to tackle these songs live takes courage, and to do it so well commendable! Also, I had the privilege of actually seeing The Beatles (Suffolk Downs Boston August 18 1966!), so I was carrying a lot of history with me to the show. I went to the Sunday matinee and what was especially cool was that the audience was younger than I expected and there were a few mutli-generational families there, which added to the festivities. The music was consistently solid, and the ad hoc local band that centered the show did well, with several local musician "guests", and an accompanying string and horn section which complimented the basic band well. The warm-up songs, a mixture of Beatles songs and solo Beatles songs provided a nice context for the center of the show: Magical Mystery Tour in its entirety, which was executed with just the right balance of professionalism and local band verve. For me, the stream of songs from "I am the Walrus" through "All You Need is Love" was excellent. The audience came alive, community was formed...there was dancing and singing and joy and hope. The Sgt. Pepper era Beatles would be proud. A splendid time was had by all.

    Beatles Night!

    by Shortround1950 on 11/29/16State Theatre - Portland

Good show. Amazing performances. The only negative for me was that the volume was too high. The instruments and vocals were mashed into noise on several songs. All in all it was still a worthwhile tribute to the Beatles/

    14th Annual Beatles Night

by Anonymous on 11/29/16State Theatre - Portland

This is our 5th time and we think it was the best yet! Magical Mystery Tour wasn't ever meant to be played live because it had so many different sounds etc... They knocked it out of the park! My uncle joined us for the first time and he said it was the most fun he had in a long time! So that made my day!
