Tears of Joy Theatre 2008-09 Season of Puppetry:
"Puppet Love"
Journey from cynicism to surrender with Tears of Joy Theatre as we present a showcase of local puppeteers specially designed to bring the love for Valentine's Day. For one night only groundbreaking local puppeteers Sarah Frechette, Jason Miranda, Bruce Orr, Vasilios Glestos, Shae Uishna, Bill Holznagel, Aaron Lathrop, Rale Sidebottom and friends delight and inflame with their new original short puppet plays. These short pieces range from in topic from the falsity of love to love for humanity, to romantic love and "Schrodinger's Cat."
"When Animals Were People" includes Mexican and South Amercan tales brought to life in a dynamic new production by Nancy Aldrich and Omar Vargus. "When Animals Were People", a tale from Mexico, is paired with "The Lazy Bee", a story from Ecuador. (ages 4 and up)
"Fabulous Bear!" by Jan Wilkowski features a small bear named Timothy who brings home a lost puppy. Will his daddy let him keep it? The suspense is thrilling as the story unfolds revealing a burglar in the house! This play from Poland became a favorite with children throughout Eastern Europe. (ages 3 and up)
