To those in the know, funnyman Lavell Crawford is one of the hottest rising stars in the biz today.  Lavell has just been signed by Comedy Central to Star in and Executive Produce one of their first two multi-camera series for the network along with Will Ferrell's.
Lavell gained huge national exposure on NBC's,  "Last Comic Standing."  Not only did NBC take notice, promptly signing Lavell to a holding deal with the network, but also Comedy Central, offered him his own half-hour standup special, "Comedy Central Presents: Lavell Crawford" which aired in early 2009.  Lavell's stand out work includes appearances on "Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam" which premiered on Showtime in December, "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam" on HBO, "Showtime at the Apollo, "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment", "Comic's Unleashed with Byron Allen", "Steve Harvey's Big Time, "Comedy Central's Premium Blend," "Motown Live" "BET's ComicView" and has appeared in the films "Baby's Mama Drama", "Beverlyhood", "Ghetto South Problems" and on the televised series "The Jamie Foxx Show,"  On stage, he played Ben in the hit play Men Cry in the Dark based on the Michael Baisden best seller. Lavell also recently appeared on stage with the critically acclaimed production Friends and Lovers, a stage production based on the novel by author Eric Jerome Dickey. Crawford played the scene-stealing "Bobby." The play also featured notable actors such as Miguel Nunez (Juwana Man), Leon (The Five Heartbeats), Monica Calhoun (The Best Man), Mel Jackson (Soul Food) and Maia Campbell (In The House).

He is also a frequent guest and host favorite on the popular E! late night talk show "Chelsea Lately".

Lavell has appeared at HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen, CO),  The Comedy Festival (Las Vegas, NV), Laffapalooza and at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.

Endeared by audiences far and wide, Lavell has built a very strong fan base playing theatres, arenas, colleges and comedy clubs and colleges across the nation.

He will be shooting a new Concert Film this October in his hometown of St. Louis.

    Still Laughing!!!

    by Mandy F. on 3/25/24

Great show!!! I came to see Lavell Crawford but all of the comedians were hilarious from the beginning of the show to the very end! Sommore had me in tears!!! She is absolutely gorgeous too! Some of the content was redundant amongst Bill Bellamy and Lavell Crawford and that was a little disappointing but still funny stuff. The MC/DJ did a great job as well! I definitely recommend this show!

    Experience.

by CC on 1/17/24Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - Jacksonville

The show was Amazing. The ushers were polite & knowledgable! The rush out at the end of the show was off-putting. Within 30 mins after the show ended, people were put out of the building. I understand there is a closing time, but it should be an hour to 2 hours after a show ends. Keep in mind the weather and some people may be dropped of by can or Uber. When shows are going on sometimes people may not be able to get a ride share or their ride share may not be able to get to them as soon as they would another time. It could leave a customer in inclement weather.

Would laugh till I cry again!

by Breezy on 1/16/24Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - Jacksonville

Last Saturday night, the Jacksonville Comedy Festival turned the auditorium into a roaring sea of laughter, and I’m not exaggerating when I say even the chairs were cracking up! With a lineup featuring the comedy titans – Lavell Crawford, Gary Owen, Tommy Davidson, Special K, and Teddy Carpenter – it was less of a show and more of a laugh marathon. Lavell Crawford was the master of relatable humor, weaving stories that had us nodding and chuckling. He’s like that funny uncle at a family reunion who doesn’t need a microphone to be the center of attention. His take on everyday life left us in stitches – who knew grocery shopping could be so hilarious? Gary Owen, the king of observational comedy, was on fire! His ability to pick out the quirkiest parts of human behavior and turn them into comedy gold is unmatched. I’m still laughing at his bit about people’s gym routines. Gary, if you’re reading this, I’ll never look at a treadmill the same way again. Tommy Davidson brought his A-game with impressions that were so spot-on, I thought we had special guests! His energy was infectious, and his physical comedy? Let’s just say I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything, or it would’ve been a spit-take spectacle. Special K was the surprise package of the night, delivering punchlines so sharp they could cut. His quick wit and seamless interaction with the audience were a masterclass in stand-up. He turned the auditorium into a comedy dojo, and we were all happily beaten by his humor. And Teddy Carpenter, oh boy! He’s like the maestro of a laughter symphony, orchestrating jokes with a rhythm that had us gasping for air. His storytelling is so vivid, I felt like I was part of his hilarious anecdotes. In conclusion, the Jacksonville Comedy Festival was an unforgettable night where laughs were the main course, and our bellies ached from overindulging. To Lavell, Gary, Tommy, Special K, and Teddy: thank you for a night where the worries of the world were replaced by pure joy. Your talent is a reminder that laughter truly is the best medicine.
