About

Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Ordinary Average Guy.” In 1969 Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded.  In 1973 Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1975 he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live.

In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus and several solo albums, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. And in 1998 The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Walsh performed at the 2012 Grammy’s with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring Paul McCartney. That June Walsh released Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years, performing solo shows around the world to support it throughout that year. In 2013 the award winning The History of The Eagles showcased at Sundance, the two part authorized documentary, and in February it aired on Showtime. In conjunction with the April release onto DVD the Eagles began their extensive The History of The Eagles World Tour. On February 9 2014 Walsh was featured in several songs on the CBS Special The Night The Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles. In 2014 Walsh played select solo shows as well as with the Eagles on The History of The Eagles World Tour, with new dates continuing throughout 2015.  In April 2015 Walsh performed with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for Starr’s Induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, later broadcast on HBO. In May 2015 Walsh joined Eddie Vedder and Pete Townsend for an All Star Celebration of The Who’s music to benefit Teen Cancer America.

    …..

by Michelle on 12/6/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

In my opinion, it was too long. I appreciate and respect what happened between acts, but it was too long for us. Maybe if it is going to be this long in the future, an outdoor festival would be more appropriate.

    AWESOME SHOW!!!

by Allen on 11/21/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

As a veteran and current active duty member I appreciated the opportunity to come out and support the cause. It just so happened that I had wanted to see Nine Inch Nails for a very long time. On top of all this were other groups I was familiar with through the years. I have listened to Joe as a child when my dad would play songs whether it was in James Gang, The Eagles or his solo career. I appreciate his work now that I am a lot older. The cherry on top of all this was Dave Grohl making a small appearance especially in light of the passing of Taylor Hawkins a few months ago. To bring this all together was the fact that they all had roots to Ohio. Such a unique experience and show for all the right reasons. Well done!

    Great Night Of Music

by Bob H on 11/19/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Had a great time with my son who’s a musician. Was absolutely blown away by NIN and I have to admit it was kind of funny seeing folks around my age who were not quite sure what they were seeing/hearing when NIN was Killing it on stage. Joe Walsh can still shred, would have loved to have heard Dave Grohl sing a couple Foo Fighter songs but was great seeing him having so much fun on stage again. Great night, Great music and a Great charity.

    Joe Walsh concert

by Star on 11/18/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

For the amount of money that the tickets cost we felt like we were robbed of hearing who we really went to hear which was Walsh. We were hoping to hear music/songs that we knew from way back when. The other groups were the pits except for the one that he helped in altho his trueness wasn’t within that either. We were very disappointed! Won’t pay that kind of money again if he is back.

    Soo RAD!

by ninChad on 11/17/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

When I first looked at tickets a few months ago, I couldn’t justify paying the price. I looked again day of show, and scored 2 second row floor seats. My date and I had such a blast!

    Great time!

by SueC on 11/17/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

What an awesome event! The James Gang sounded incredible! I grew up on these guys and have followed Joe Walsh through his career! So glad that I was able to participate in this veterans benefit! 5 full sets with proceeds going to the veteran support groups is a win-win event and worth the price of admission!

    Excellent show!

by Cap on 11/17/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

What a great event. A good night of music for a great cause. Wasn't really impressed with The Breeders. They sounded like a garage band most of their set. The James Gang was amazing! Really wish they would have played longer. The Black Keys were surprisingly good. I wasn't that familiar with them. Really enjoyable! I'm not a big Nine Inch Nails fan...but glad I got to experience it. It was quite the show. And then Joe closed it out! Again, wish he could have played longer. That's the only reason this review doesn't get 5 stars...not enough Joe! Also, Dave Grohl was there...sort of. Really thought he'd be more involved.
