About

Emerging from Boston's notoriously fertile punk/new wave scene of the early eighties, Human Sexual Response stood out even then as a band unlike any other. With four singers and a knockout guitar-bass-drums trio, the band wove a sonic web with a perversely pop sound and sensibility. With songs like "Jackie Onassis", "What Does Sex Mean to Me?" and "Land of the Glass Pinecones", the Humans made sleazy rock clubs feel like major concert halls, and vice versa. The group's rare subsequent appearances have drawn sold-out crowds eager to taste the band's live excitement.

    HSR is amazing!!

by Succubus26 on 11/6/17House of Blues Boston - Boston

They still got it! Playing since the 70's and still tight, full of energy and sounding wonderful! They put on a fun show, you can tell they really enjoy doing this and they sound as good now as when I went to see them in the 80's!

    ONE MORE TIME

by Frank2011 on 11/6/17House of Blues Boston - Boston

Very good show, very enjoyable. Clothing was great. Show was short, could have played longer. You guys are not that old. Should have played another encore with the Unnatural Axe.

    HSR didn't miss a beat

by AppleFanboy on 11/17/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

HSR sounded fantastic! The musicians and vocalists played as if they had been on tour ever since the 80s. They were well-rehearsed yet didn't sound cold. I've always been a Rich Gilbert fan and he did not disappoint. The vocals were very strong and powerful, yet tender when the song called for it.

Best HSR show I've seen so far!

by NewWaveBoy on 11/13/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

HSR was a seriously awesome Boston band in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They disbanded in 1982 and seem to get together every few years to play a reunion show. The show was amazing. They packed the House of Blues, and they were *tight*, melodically, harmonically, and performance-wise. My friends and I couldn't quite believe they weren't actively on tour, they seemed so polished. If only we could convince them to compose again.

    Unba- Unba-lievable show

by HSRfan on 11/12/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

What a fabulous reunion gig! It was at House of Blues because of the big crowd. Thirty years just melted away! Hope they do it again before another 30 go by!

Wow, is all I can say. Its just like these guys never stopped performing. They haven't missed a beat. They are just as entertaining and sexy as they were 30 years ago. Hope to see another show soon.

    Great Show!

by chimaydog on 11/12/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Caught HSR at the House of Blues in Boston - what a great show! All the hits, lots of singalong! Band, especially Larry, seemed to find their stride in the last half of the show when he was more prominent (as he used to be) and it seemed the playing tightened up a little bit, like it used to be. Warmup "band" (woman in feathers and guy with a mobile Casio) was a little strange, but that wasn't what we were there for!
