A very good sharing of the Mexican tradition of Day of the Dead. The production by the Bluegrass Youth Ballet staff was executed very well. To think there were dancers ranging from 5 years to 18. Next time this ballet is performed, I recommend you go see it.
We really enjoyed the ballet especially since our friends were in the cast. The story was very interesting and moving.
BYB always has the most spectacular and original ballets! This ballet made you cry and laugh! Such talented dancers and beautiful costumes!
I've been to many youth ballets and none of them even compared to this performance. I was surprised that it wasn't sold out and I hope Bluegrass Youth Ballet puts it on again next year. If you are a parent, it is a must see. The story is very emotional, the costumes were beautifully vivid, and the dancers danced with such passion! Both of my children have seen it (ages 3 and 7). I did explain what Dia De Los Muertos meant (Day of the Dead) and explained that they are celebrating the lives of those they lost so is a happy day! The music is still playing in my head. Without a doubt, 5 stars!
