Anthony Hamilton Background

Before getting his Grammy and churning out hits like "Charlene" and "Can't Let Go," Anthony Hamilton started singing from a young age and got his start in the church choir. Hamilton was born on January 28th, 1971, and is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina -- a core influence of his Southern neo-soul musical style. Hamilton also draws his musical influences from R&B greats, including Michael Jackson. After moving to New York City in the 1990s and moving between record labels, Hamilton finally created a name for himself with his fourth album in 2003, which featured the musical hit "Charlene." Hamilton's influence extends beyond music into the public sphere through his speaking and advocacy opportunities as a CASA spokesperson, which allows him to raise awareness about the foster care system.

    Bad Knees

by Dee on 4/17/24Atrium Health Amphitheater - Macon

Concert was really good. What happened to showing the show on the screen? On my way, I was stopped by some other people that was attending the show who told me that I could not take my chair into the concert and that I had to have the type of chair that was lower to the ground. If I didn't have bad knees and if I had seen it posted it wouldn't have been no problem. I wouldn't have driven 5 1/2 hours. Me and my friends stood up during the entire show because of the chair rule. Once we got to lawn area, we noticed a lot of regular pop up chairs. What a big shocker to us and my knees. When you decide on the type of chair, please think of the people with bad knees. With lower chairs we cannot get up and down to dance to the music. The amphitheater is nice and the people that lives in Macon were very friendly. Holiday Inn Express (J), Chick Filet, Cook Out and Cracker Barrel. They were very hospitable.

    Macon amphitheater

by ES on 4/17/24Atrium Health Amphitheater - Macon

The event was really nice but the venue should invest in screens to project the artists so everyone can see- people stood the entire time and it wouldn’t have been a problem I could watch the concert on screen

The venue is beautiful, but the concert was not easily assessible. The set up was not good at all. I had a much better view at the coliseum. This out door venue is for picnics only, not a performance.

    Awesome show

by Glo on 4/17/24Atrium Health Amphitheater - Macon

The event as a whole was great. Everyone in my group enjoyed all of the performances. The venue itself could use some improvements because there were no monitors for people on the lawn to see the performances (unless you brought binoculars) when people stood up.

    Tv Screens

by Miko82 on 4/17/24Atrium Health Amphitheater - Macon

The show was nice overall it would be great if we could bring in the regular lawn chairs instead of the beach chairs and it would be a great idea to add at least two tv Screens to each corner of the stage to get a better view of the performance for the people sitting on the lawn
