About

Formed by guitarist/composer Omar Rodríguez-López and singer/lyricist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, The Mars Volta rose from the ashes of El Paso punk-rock firebrands At The Drive-In in 2001. Ona mission to "honor our roots and honor our dead", The Mars Volta made music that fused the Latin sounds Rodríguez-López was raised on with the punk and underground noise he and Bixler-Zavala had immersed themselves in for years, and the futuristic visions they were tapping into. The albums that followed were one-of-a-kind masterpieces, their songs of breath-taking complexity also possessing powerful emotional immediacy. After the group fell silent, a legion of devotees (including Kanye West) kept up an insistent drum-beat for their return.  Now-a year after 'La Realidad De Los Sueños', aluxurious 18-LP box-set compiling their back catalog, sold out its 5,000 print run in under 24 hours-The Mars Volta are back.

Throughout their career, The Mars Volta have brought played many famous venues to capacity, like Tabernacle in Atlanta and Terminal 5 in New York.

This Is A One Of A Kind Performance

by Aida on 10/19/23The Union - Salt Lake City

After a long hiatus, The Mars Volta came back to give us lifetime fans the opportunity to see them live. It is unsure if there will be other performances in the future. They were energetic on stage and gave life to their best songs. I would love to see them again if they ever perform again.

It was what I’d hoped for. Good song selection and balance. High powered.

    Worth the wait

by Fanforever on 10/6/23The Factory - St. Louis

I have been waiting years to see this band. They DID NOT disappoint! From Teri Gender Bender to the very end of The Mars Volta, it was like experiencing a psychedelic trip without the psychedelics. The intensity brought by a largely underrated band was phenomenal. One of, if not the best concerts I have seen!

    Great bands, OK Venue

by Water Bill on 10/6/23The Factory - St. Louis

The Factory feels much like the rest of the Chesterfield valley, soulless and corporate. I also suspect the acoustics suffer in the name of cheap design. I felt like the many layers and up-tempo nature of Mars Volta music didn't translate well. I'm sure it's fine for comedy or something less than the genius of Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala.

    THE MARS VOLTA!!

by Sf on 10/6/23The Factory - St. Louis

If u know this band, u know they never disappoint. The energy is like a wave as it hits the crowd. Just when u think u know where they're taking u, u are list again. Only to be found 10 min later and right back at the hook. Uncomparable band.

    They still got it!

by lukasdukas on 10/5/23The Andrew J Brady Music Center - Cincinnati

Even after 20 years out, they can still put on a hell of a show. Even if the youthful energy isn’t quite there anymore, the band is tighter than ever and still has tons of life in them. A straight hour and 45 minutes of jamming. Even if you’re just slightly a fan of the band, go see them life before it’s too late!

    Amazing

by WspidelingE on 10/3/23The Andrew J Brady Music Center - Cincinnati

The band put on one hell of a show. I never thought I would get to see them live and it was so frickin' good. Shame the venue has poor acoustics and the sound was not great. The band can't help that. Memorable night and worth the wait.

I've been a fan of The Mars Volta for year and never got the opportunity to see them until recently. They did not disappoint. The show was incredible and was worth the wait. If you're a fan... you've got to see them live.

Volta rocked my face off as usual. Great venue. Great acoustics.
