Does anyone agree? All other pieces were wonderful. Rhapsody in blue was too fast. Besides that, I think I heard some wrong key on the piano right before the ending. it made me frustrated and I didn't even pay attention to the finale and music ended...
The Albany Symphony has become a world class ensemble. The orchestra has a remarkable depth of talent and Maestro Miller is terrrific.
Perfectly geared towards young audiences, the music was well chosen, the musical instruments zoo before the show was great. We had a group of children aged 2 to 6, they all enjoyed it. It is a fantastic educational opportunity.
Great show! Would bring children. Gets you in the Christmas spirit.

It was a very good event. There was much more to it than I expected. Definitely something your kids can enjoy.
Disappointing this year. The Youth Chorus was magnificent! The two major compositions terrible. The effort to meld a concert score with Orf arrangements failed- disjointed and inharmonious and unnecessary. Both types of music stand alone successfully. Likewise, the effort to meld Hanukah music with Christmas music unnecessary and unsuccessful. A silly idea- Hanukah is not a major Jewish holy day and the long history of music commissioned by the Christian Church resulted in a completely different level of music. The Jewish faith is marvelous- but music isn't a part of our heritage--not at the level of Renaissance music etc. Why try to mix them? Better to play the kinds of music separately and celebrate both religions. And where were the dancers?
Excellent variety of Christmas music. Innovative participation of children with mini-marimba instruments and adolescent choire and Irish dancing.
The presentation was phenomenal. It was well worth the money I spent on it and I intend to go to another show very soon.
This was our first time attending a concert at the Palace Theatre, and we'll certainly be back. The interior is ornate and welcoming, and the orchestra was unforgettable.
