The then nascent "California hippie jug band" that Billboard Magazine said "...but it is doubtful they will ever be captured on record" (1967) has garnered over 30 chart singles accompanied by accolades and awards over the years from the Grammys, CMA, IBMA, IEBA, ACM and various other notice givers, as well as constant great reviews from over 7,500 shows on the road.
With an unmatchable career (see nittygritty.com) , this first American band to tour Russia continues as the longest enduring original American group.
Unlike many 'country rock' bands of the early '70's, the NGDB did not give up their dream of radio and road success 'from their viewpoint', and with constant road performing of their brand of country rock and bluegrass tinged music they continue to this day with their still fresh combinations of sounds. Showing their still vibrant influences, especially evident on their highly anticipated newest CD Speed of Life (released on Sugarhill Records September of 2009), you should not miss them where ever they are appearing.
