About

KIDS IN THE HALL LIVE:

Canadian comedy troupe Kids In the Hall thrilled fans when they turned their popular sketch sitcom into a full-blown comedy tour. Whether they're playing out their signature skits in drag or impersonating Queen Elizabeth II, the five jokesters consistently have aidoemces doubled-over in hysterics during their live performances. Back on tour, the uncanny quintet will treat ticket buyers to their quirky antics as they hit the road for a string of highly anticipated shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kids In the Hall have had a long-standing run in Canada's comedy  scene, first forming in the early '80s but moving on to solo pursuits shortly after. It wasn't until their 1986 reunion when they realized their potential as a troupe -- SNL creator Lorne Michaels also noticed their on-stage chemistry, and the idea for a comedy show was born. They made their television debut in 1989, enjoying a successful six-season run and earning a Golden Rose Award (Rose d'Or). Since the show's finale, Kids In the Hall members have developed a major cult following, acting out recurring themes on tour and performing sketch situations in their hit film Brain Candy.Back on the road, Kids In the Hall head out on a number of tour dates, treating ticket buyers to their classic skits alongside new material.

Kids In The Hall, I had a Ball!

by JaimeSamantha on 6/22/15Town Hall - New York

It was so amazing seeing the Kids in The Hall again after having not them do sketches in almost 15 years. I loved how they re did some classic sketches and even when things seemed to go wrong, it was funny. I wish I could go again.

End of the Tour, A little punchy...

by MarkNYC64 on 6/22/15Town Hall - New York

I always love the Kids in the Hall. I would easily be considered a super fan as I have incorporated their quips and bits in my everyday life since 1989! And not just "I'm crushing your head," but "We need to get an exorcist in here and this time I'm SERIOUS!" And the list goes on. The show I saw at Town Hall were last minute additions to their year-long tour (I saw essentially the same show a year ago in DC), and you could tell they were beat. Don't get me wrong, the show was funny; I LOL'd a LOT but the energy just wasn't there. Also, they had taken out at least one sketch I remembered from last year (the Chicken Lady's blind date!). Also, the sound at Town Hall was not great; Kevin's opening song about the history of the Kids in the Hall was muffled and you couldn't understand all the words, which is a shame. i would buy that on iTunes. I would!

Kids in the Hall-What You Didn't Know You Needed

by Torment on 6/8/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

It was great to see them all together bring back old favorites and 'huh?" skits. Only thing that would make it better was if the Chicken Lady had gotten laid on stage. Good times!

New material with some classic characters

by KB32 on 6/8/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

As a fan of the 90's show I was happy to see all of the original actors performing skits again. They brought back a few classic characters but all the material was new. They did mess up on lines a few times and began improvising, while it was obvious it was also quite funny. If you enjoyed the TV show you'll enjoy this tour.

Still completely envelope pushing and wonderfully bizarre.

    They've still got it!!

by OCchick99 on 6/7/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I was hooked from the very first sketch! The guys jumped right in and spared us from waiting through an opening act so the theater patrons around me were still in high spirits. The Kids ran through new material plus classic sketches that had been updated or that pushed the boundaries further than ever before. During the final few lines of one such sketch Mark suddenly decided to play his character as a drunk and once Scott called him on it and then joined in, the whole thing snowballed into hysteric laughter (from The Kids AND the audience). The show never slowed down and I enjoyed every second. Plus, the merch table was very reasonably priced.
