Short Biography
A tremendously talented country singer, Martina McBride has released numerous chart-topping albums over the course of her career. Born in Kansas, McBride entered the world of country music as a teen when she played with her father's band the Schifters. She later moved to America's country music capital, Nashville, and released her debut album, The Time Has Come, in 1992. Her second album, The Way That I Am, brought McBride widespread popularity, featuring the Top Five hit "My Baby Loves Me." In 1994, McBride won a GRAMMY Award® for her song "Independence Day." Additional hit songs include "Wild Angels," "A Broken Wing" and "This One's for the Girls."
