BLUE RODEO IN CONCERT:

Canadian roots rock mainstay Blue Rodeo has been sending fans "Head Over Heels" with their country-tinged sound and lighters-in-the-air concerts for more than three decades. The group has won a dozen Juno Awards in their home country, and they've earned a global fanbase with their approachable sound and unforgettable live performances. They've been called one of Canada's best live bands, and it's easy to see why as co-vocalists Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor tag team anthemic favorites like "Lost Together" and "5 Days in May". Fans looking to catch up with with these veteran rockers won't want to miss them any time they perform favorites from their decade-spanning discography on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Blue Rodeo was formed in the early '80s by Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, two Toronto high school buddies who started playing music together after graduating. Following a stint in New York they returned to Canada and put together a band, and in 1985 Blue Rodeo played their first show at The Rivoli in Toronto. After two years of performing and honing their sound, the group released their 1987 debut album Outskirts to a Top 20 spot on the Canadian charts. A steady string of popular singles and albums followed in the late '80s and '90s, including country chart-toppers like "Try" and "Til I Am Myself Again". Their success continued in the '00s with no less than five Top 10 albums on the Canadian Albums Chart and a star on Canada's Walk of Fame. Over the course of 13 albums Blue Rodeo has won a whopping 12 Juno Awards, and they continue to impress with their time-honored sound and undeniable onstage chemistry every time they tour.

    Fantastic!

by Joe J. on 1/17/24The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Blue Rodeo at Caesar's Windsor was awesome! After nearly 40 years of making music, Blue Rodeo still has the goods. Jim, Greg and the rest of the band looked and sounded great as they made their way through a 2 and a 1/2 hour set of 23 songs. The whole band looked to be having a great time playing to the nearly sold-out crowd. The Colosseum venue was also fantastic. The sound was perfect. The lights, video screens and comfortable seating also added to the enjoyment of the evening. Can't wait to see Blue Rodeo again, soon!

Blue Rodeo Concert at Windsor Colloseum Jan. 12, 2024

by Laurie on 1/15/24The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Enjoyed the Blue Rodeo concert very much. Of course my favourite song, Try, was saved for the last encore.. A very talented group of musicians. Thoroughly enjoyed the special guest vocalist Melissa Mclellan. Would have liked to hear her sing one more full song on her own. The only thing that I would comment on is that, with the exception of Miss Mclellan, this years show was pretty much identical to the last show they played at the Casino, right down to the story telling. Will make me rethink going to see them again as I can say I have been there and done that, twice. That being said. I still love Blue Rodeo's music and have for years.

    Always a Great Show!

by Cynthia on 1/15/24The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I've been a fan of Blue Rodeo for 35 yrs, and this was my 15th time seeing them. Members have changed over the years, but Jim and Gregs' voices are as good as ever! And Cuddy still smiles when he sings. And of course, my name is Cynthia, so I adore that song!

    So good, as always

by Blue Rodeo Fan on 12/20/23Massey Hall - Toronto

Love Blue Rodeo and Love Massey Hall. The perfect place to see this amazing band. We were lucky to have great seats, so it made the intimate setting even more intimate! The band is always engaged, energetic and seem like they love performing and love massey hall. Feels so nice to watch artists who seem like they want to perform because they love it, and not because they want to be in the media. Thanks Blue Rodeo. Happy Holidays.

    Better than high expectations

by ATP on 12/17/23Massey Hall - Toronto

Difficult to cram in all the superlatives to describe one of Canada's all-time pre-emient bands (along with the Guess Who and the Tragically Hip). Listening to all the songs played in the second set, one is reminded of the incredible lyric and music gifts of songwriters and frontmen Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy. I am certain that the best set of backup musicians belong to Blue Rodeo. And an album that was released 30 years ago this month more than stands the test of time three decades later. Bravo, Five Days in July! Thanks Jim, for sharing your singing with us. Your pipes are as strong as ever!! Thanks Greg, for sharing the out-of-love-then-in-love-again journey with us comprised of several compositions from Five Days. You have an amzing gift of transforming human insights into lyrics!!!
